Boston Celtics vs Detroit Pistons Best Bet

The Boston Celtics are in excellent shape at the moment, riding a 4-game winning streak and sitting 5th in the eastern conference standings. They have performed extremely well on both sides of the floor in the last 10 games, ranking 1st in offensive and 5th in defensive rating. But the Celtics haven’t fared very well when they have been home favourites this season, covering the spread in just 13 of their 31 games, good for 23rd in the NBA. They are still among the top 10 slowest teams in the league, and despite their efficient offence, they aren’t a team that is built for blowout victories. They have faced Detroit 3 times this season, winning 2 encounters by 9 points, and losing one by a single point. They are available at 1.07 odds to win tonight, and with 90% of bettors backing them, it’s really not worth it.
But the Detroit Pistons have secretly been carrying a lot of betting value in recent games, and are coming into this game very underrated. They’ve won 6 of their last 10 games, and are coming off a close 6-point loss to the Chicago Bulls, but that’s not the best part. The Pistons have covered the spread in 9 consecutive games, and the last time they failed was almost a month ago. They have made significant improvements on both sides of the floor, and their status as a young and struggling team has prevented most bettors from backing them. The Pistons also play slow, and the 14-point spread should be a walk in the park for Dwayne Casey’s side.
- Selection: Detroit Pistons +14.0
- Best Odds: 1.91 (Marathonbet)
- Stakes: 7/10

Atlanta Hawks vs LA Clippers Best Bet
Sat, Mar 12. 00:30 (UK)
The Atlanta Hawks are in poor shape at the moment, losing two road games in a row, and are sitting 10th in the eastern conference standings. The Hawks have had the 2nd best offence in the league this year, scoring an average of 112.8 points per game, and ranking 3rd in 3-point percentage. But the Hawks have had severe defensive issues all season long, largely due to their lack of effort caused by last season’s success. The Hawks have allowed 111.9 points per game this year, and their perimeter defence has been atrocious, allowing opponents to drain 36.3% of their 3-pointers – good for 27th in the NBA. Although the Hawks have been solid at home ATS this year, they have covered in just 1 of their last 5 games, and with the current state of their defence, I don’t advise backing them in this market.
However, the Los Angeles Clippers have been hanging in there extremely well considering the absences of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the majority of the season. They have won 7 of their last 10 games, and are coming off a 115-109 victory over the Washington Wizards. They have had the 3rd best defence in the NBA in the last 10 games, whilst allowing just 106.6 points per game. Although their offence has struggled all season, averaging just 106.9 points per game, they have been solid against weak defensive sides, and have already won their first encounter against the Hawks this season in January by 106-93. The Clipper have a lot of upside in this game, and only 22% of bettors are backing them to win. They are available at 3.10 to win again, but I’m backing them at +6.0 points in the handicap market.
- Selection: Clipper +6.0
- Best Odds: 1.94 (Marathonbett)
- Stakes: 6/10

Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers Best Bet
Sat, Mar 12. 01:00 (UK)
The Miami Heat are still sitting atop the eastern conference with 44 wins and 23 losses, having won 7 of their last 10 games. But they are coming off an unexpected 90-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns due to a terrible shooting night. Despite ranking 5th in defensive rating in the last 5 games, and allowing just 104.7 points per game, their offence has struggled. The Heat are 23rd in offensive rating in their last 5 games, and they are one of the slowest teams in the NBA. The Heat have a very impressive home record of 23-8, the Heat have lost both of their encounter against the Cavaliers this season, both by 11 points or more. 89% of bettors are backing the Heat to win tonight, and at 1.43 odds they are simply not worth backing.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are still going strong, sitting in 6th place in the eastern conference with 38 wins and 27 losses this season. They suffered a mid-season drop in form, but they have won their last 2 games, and are one of the top teams against the spread in 65.0% of their road games where they were considered underdogs. their defence has dropped from 4th to 28th in defensive rating in the last 5 games, and despite allowing just 103.5 points per game on the season, they have allowed 118.2 in the last 5. But this shouldn’t present much of a problem against the Miami Heat, who have struggled to score all season, and with just 11% of bettors picking the Cavs tonight, they provide solid value in the handicap market.
- Selection: Cavaliers +5.5
- Best Odds: 1.96 (Marathonbet)
- Stakes: 8/10
