A nice 3/3 on our NBA best bets on Wednesday night brings us to 5.71% profit on the season, and I’ve got 2 more best bets for tonight, Friday, March 25th. We’ve got another 8 games scheduled for tonight, but these two selections provide the most betting value.

The Detroit Pistons are 14th in the east with just 20 wins and 53 losses this season. They are nowhere near playoff contention but their recent form has made them a very profitable side to back. They have won 4 of their last 10 games, having covered the spread in 8 of them, and they are coming off a 122-101 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Pistons are taking full advantage of the end-of-the-season sluggishness in the league and have drastically improved their form.
The Pistons have ranked 16th in offensive and 4th in defensive rating over the last 5 games, and are playing a very different type of basketball than earlier in the season. They are now the 7th-fastest team in the league and have increased their point average from 104.4 to 115.6. Their 3-point percentage has also gone up from 32.6% to 36.6%. Their defence has also been very impressive recently, keeping opponents to 34.2% on 3-pointers and allowing 111.6 points per game – good for 12th in the league.
The Washington Wizards, on the other hand, have been struggling after an excellent start to the season. They have dropped down to 12th place in the east with just 30 wins and 42 losses. They have won just 2 of their last 10 games, and are on a 2-game losing streak. They dominated this match-up recently, winning all 4 of their last encounters, but the tables have turned and I’m backing the Pistons to take this one.
The wizards are one of the worst teams in the league at the moment, ranking 28th in defensive rating and allowing 118.8 points per game. Their offence has been respectable, averaging 111.3 points per game, but it’s nowhere near enough to get wins in the late stages of the season. They are coming off a 114-102 loss to the Bucks last night, and I expect fatigue to be a big issue for the Wizards tonight.

Now, onto the more interesting match-up of the night with the Minnesota Timberwolves taking on the Milwaukee Bucks at Target Center. The Wolves are 7th in the western conference and fighting to avoid the play-in tournament, but are going through a bit of a tough period. Despite winning 7 of their last 10 games, they have lost their last 2 and are coming off125-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns. They don’t have any major injury issues at the moment, but KAT is listed as questionable for this game with a forearm injury.
Although their offence has been one of the best in the league this season, ranking 7th in offensive rating, they haven’t been able to find their shot against the Mavs, losing their last 2 encounters and scoring 102 and 108 respectively. The Wolves love to push the pace and play fast, but they haven’t been able to do that against the Mavericks who are one of the slowest teams in the league. The good news is, the TImberwolves have had one of the best defences in the NAB over the last 10 games, ranking 4th in defensive rating and keeping opponents to just 33.7% from beyond the arc.
That said, the Dallas Mavericks are one of the best teams in the league at the moment and are sitting in 5th place in the west, having won 7 of their last 10 games. They are also on a 2-game winning streak and coming off a 110-91 win against the Houston Rockets. They were without Luka Doncic in that game, but Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson came to play, scoring 26 and 28 points respectively. They also kept the rockets to just 14.3% from beyond the arc, and I’m expecting another solid defensive performance tonight.
The Mavericks have consistently had one of the best defences in the league this season, allowing just 104.0 points per game – good for 2nd in the NBA. They have also ranked dead last in pace rating on the season, preferring to take it slow, and getting most of their points from half-court sets. This is why they are the best team to consider in the Over/Under market, with 64.8% of their games this season going Under. In fact, all 3 of their encounters against the Timberwolves saw fewer than 220 points, and I’m expecting a similar result this time around.
