Chicago entered the All-Star break on a six-game slide. Destined for a lost season, the Bulls are in disrepair, a win-now project which has cratered. There is little to be optimistic about as the campaign resumes, and they are only slight favourites over the new-look Brooklyn Nets.

The centrepiece of the Kevin Durant deal, Mikal Bridges has seamlessly taken on an offence-leading role in Brooklyn. He had upped his usage in Phoenix already, and maintained that since becoming a Net.
