Denver Nuggets vs Indiana Pacers Preview
Sat, Jan 21. 02:10 (UK time)
Indiana is not the same team without Tyrese Haliburton. They have a -3.4 net rating in non-Haliburton minutes, and have lost all four since he suffered an injury. It is no surprise the Pacers are heavy underdogs when they face the Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
Once again, Nikola Jokic is leading the MVP race. Only 0.1 assists shy of averaging a triple-double, Jokic has been utterly dominant of late, and goes up against an Indiana defence which places in the bottom 10 over the last 10 games.
Jokic has three triple-doubles in a row, and five in his last six games. Foul trouble kept him to only 20 minutes of game time when the teams last met, which perhaps contributes to this price.
Denver Nuggets vs Indiana Pacers Best Bet
There is an implied probability of just 43.5% on the two-time MVP to add another triple-double despite the numbers so heavily being in his favour. There’s great value here with the Pacers sliding.
- Selection: Nikola Jokic to record a triple-double
- Best Odds: 2.30 (Bet365)
- Stakes: 6/10
San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers Preview
Sat, Jan 21. 01:10 (UK time)
These are two of the NBA’s five worst defences over the last 10 games. Both are 2-8 over that period. San Antonio has also hit the over more frequently than any other team in the Association, while the Clippers have cashed the under most often.
Taking the initial over isn’t too appealing with the Clippers’ low pace and tendency for low-scoring games. An adjusted line is the way to go here – San Antonio has gone over this number in all but one game since December 17th.
San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers Best Bet
Los Angeles remains without Luke Kennard and John Wall, but Kawhi Leonard and Paul George should play after an off day. Their record with the two stars isn’t exactly spectacular, but they are 8-4 straight up as a road favourite.
- Selection: Clippers moneyline and over 225.5 total points
- Best Odds: 2.00 (Bet365)
- Stakes: 4/10
Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat Preview
Sat, Jan 21. 00:40 (UK time)
Dallas is 4-6 over its last 10, with the fifth-worst net rating in the league. Luka Doncic has put pressure on the front office to make a trade.
Miami is 7-3 over that period, with only four teams owning a better net rating. The defence remains elite, and the offence has begun to do enough. Comfortable on the road with recent wins against the Pelicans, Suns, Clippers and Jazz, the Heat had Thursday night off and should at least be able to stay close to a Dallas team which has lost five of six.
Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat Best Bet
High-scoring games have been common for the Mavs of late with their defence struggling. We’re backing that trend to be bucked here in what should be a real grind of a contest with two of the three slowest teams in the league going toe-to-toe.
- Selection: Miami Heat +6.5 and under 225.5 total points
- Best Odds: 2.00 (Bet365)
- Stakes: 3/10
