CLEVELAND CAVALIERS VS ATLANTA HAWKS
Wed, Nov 29. 00:10 (UK time)
Only one team has covered the spread less frequently than the Atlanta Hawks. While Cleveland’s 9-8 start isn’t much to get excited about on a surface level, they have won five of their last seven. With their core rotation players healthy, this is clearly one of the Eastern Conference’s elite teams.
Atlanta have lost four of their last six. The pattern of being a great offence and porous defence in the Trae Young era has continued. Yes, the Hawks have the firepower to outscore the Cavs, but Cleveland’s defence should at least keep them in the game.
The contrast of Cleveland being in the midst of a homestand, while the Hawks are on a lengthy road trip, tips the scales in the Cavs’ favour here.
NEW YORK KNICKS VS CHARLOTTE HORNETS
Wed, Nov 29. 00:40 (UK time)
The Charlotte Hornets are 27th in opponent points per game and 30th in defensive rating. They have conceded over 116.5 points in 11 of their last 13 games, including two games against these Knicks, who reached 122 and 129.
Yes, the Knicks play at the second-slowest pace and score under 110 points per game. Teams cannot help but pick up the pace against these Hornets, however, and the Knicks have done a good job getting into the 120s when facing lottery-bound teams like Charlotte.
There’s real value here given the two games these teams have already played this season.
MIAMI HEAT VS MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Wed, Nov 29. 00:40 (UK time)
Both of these teams have covered the spread in less than half of their games this season. The Bucks needed a late comeback to beat the Blazers at the weekend, but it’s important to note they have now won seven of their last eight.
Miami bounced back after a slow start, yet they have lost three of five. They have given the Bucks problems in recent years (never more so than last season’s playoffs), but they have an availability crisis right now. Tyler Herro is ruled out. Jimmy Butler and Haywood Highsmith are questionable. Bam Adebayo and Duncan Robinson are probable after both missed Saturday’s loss to Brooklyn.
This line would be fair if the Heat were healthy. Milwaukee is up to ninth in net rating over the last 10 games. Even if Khris Middleton sits out, we like the Bucks to cover here. This line will move considerably if Butler and/or Adebayo are ruled out.
