Our resident college hoops expert Ej Garr got off to a rough start on opening night, but all that does is fire him up to get back on track. So, with a pair of tips involving a total and an underdog, Ej plans on getting us back in the green with a 4.20 Friday Night NCAA Hoops Combo.
Starting with a game in the Sunshine State, Central Florida, and Miami clash at Watsco Center after both teams showed up with big wins to open their campaigns. Finishing with the BYU vs San Diego State affair, Ej has his eyes on the dog to bark on the road, so let’s hit the courts and bank home some hoops to end the week strong.
NCAAB Friday Night Combo Odds: 4.20
Odds via bet365 as of 8:00 am on November 10, 2023. Odds may now differ.
The first of the two games I have picked out for Friday night comes in the form of this total going over the number at Watsco Center. The Miami Hurricanes will play host to the Central Florida Knights, and both teams came away with resounding wins to open their campaign this week.
The Canes dumped 101 points on NJIT, but let’s not get too overwhelmed by all of that success. I am not saying that Miami will grab another 100 points tonight against UCF, but we don’t need them to do that at home tonight. This total will be crashed when 147 points hit the scoreboard, and I don’t see how either of these programs will be held to less than 70+ apiece in Coral Gables.
I see Miami is favoured by nearly double-digits at home, and I do believe they will be able to handle their business against a brand new UCF squad that is just getting used to each other.
The Knights were double-digit favs against FIU to open their campaign this week, and they did break out for a big win to open the year, 85 – 62. I don’t think they will have that much success in Miami tonight, but I do think they can manage to reach the 70-point mark.
I see the Canes coming away with an 83 – 72 win to barely cover the handicap, but the 155 points will help us easily cash this Over 146.5 number on Friday night.
Did the line setters simply forget that the Aztecs are the team that almost hoisted the NCAA Men’s Basketball trophy last April? Hey now, I might have called for that to happen against my UConn boys as you all read here last season, but this team is not about to lose to BYU in their second game of the campaign.
I can’t even believe we are getting a 2.20 offer from Bet365 to add to this NCAA Basketball Friday Night 2-Game Combo. Of course, the adage that the Aztecs will have a bigger target on them because of last year’s success works fine, but you still need to find a way to beat them.
I do love what Spencer Johnson brings to the table for BYU, and it looks like he might have a healthy version of Trevin Knell to play with this year. The one thing we did see the Cougars do well in their season opener against HCU was rebound as a team.
San Diego State is not Houston Christian, however, so all of those numbers come against one damn weak opponent for BYU.
Aztecs Head Coach Brian Dutcher had three players grab at least 15 points in the campaign opener, and Jaedon Ledee has opened his senior season in style after his 27-point effort including 10 rebounds. The TCU transfer was expected to have a major role in the success of the Aztecs in 2023, and apparently, he is ready to make a big impact this season.
This will certainly be a close game, but if I need to be asked which team will eventually find the win it will be the Aztecs, This team has every intention of returning to the Final Four again, so this is too early to be picking up a loss to a non-conference opponent.
