After splitting his pair of NCAA basketball offers this past Friday, Ej is back with two more bets to start the week on Monday. Starting with the anticipated arrival to MSG for Rick Pitino, the St. Johns Red Storm welcome the Michigan Wolverines to NYC, and the Jonnies are loaded with talent this season.

Finishing with the tilt in El Paso, the high-flying UTEP Miners look to jump out to a 3 – 0 start to the campaign when they play host to the UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos on Monday night. Ej has his eyes on a total that is going to get smashed to pieces nice and early, so let’s hit the glass and bring it hard with a modest 2-game NCAAB Monday Night Parlay paying out odds of 3.64.

NCAAB Monday Night Parlay Odds: 3.64

ST. JOHNS RED STORM VS MICHIGAN WOLVERINES: JONNIES WELCOME WOLVERINES TO MSG

The St. Johns Red Storm will play their first game at MSG in NYC this season, and after opening the campaign at Carnaseca Arena with a win over Stony Brook, the Jonnies now get to show the Big Apple their new look. The Michigan Wolverines are in town for what appears to be an evenly matched game, as the line setters aren’t tipping their hand but I know better!

Head Coach Rick Pitino now gets to show Gotham what he is working with because he has brought in quite a tremendous amount of talent to the Red Storm program. After three years of taking Iona to a post-season tournament, I might have to add that it pains me to see him go.

I was born in New Rochelle, and raised in Larchmont about 1.5 miles from Iona, and I know the MAAC about as well as anyone you will ever meet. Let’s just say that I have been to about 100 Iona games and 13 end-of-season MAAC Tournaments, and Iona is certainly my hometown team.

Pitino is a native New Yorker too, and if I went over his history as a head coach we would be here for an eternity. What Pitino has done to this program is open the transfer portal to all of the stars, and Pitino has found a few of those to help him in year one in Queens.

Not only did he drag three of his former Iona players who were all important pieces of the Gaels’ success over the past couple of years, but let’s talk names, shall we?

Jordan Dingle averaged 23.4 PPG at Penn last year, and the native New Yorker couldn’t jump on the opportunity any quicker than he did. Dingle tallied 13 points in the season-opening win in a bench role for Pitino, but he still saw 25 minutes of time on the court.

Joel Soriano wasn’t about to leave town as he returned for a fifth year to get some time under the tutelage of Pitino. All Soriano did last year was produce at 15.2 PPG / 11.9 RBG average, you know, not much! (Goodness, he had 22 & 11 in the win over Stony Brook)

Nahiem Alleyne was a key bench player for UConn in their title run last year, and he got the opening night start against Stony Brook, He might be back in a reserve role of Dingle is going to be a solid performer who has already proved he can score.

I love St. Johns at MSG tonight, and the line setters aren’t even asking me to lay a point. I do see this line might be -1 by the morning but have no fear. Jonnies win this game 76 – 71, so it won’t come down to that point at all.

UTEP MINERS VS U.C SANTA BARBARA GAUCHOS: POINTS GALORE IN EL PASO

Really? That says 143.5, people!

Listen, I do not need to give you some kind of massive preview for this game because the writing is already on the wall. The Miners offence has played two games, and let’s make no mistake that some of these non-conference games will see plenty of similar results.

With 120 points scored in their first game and 128 scored in game #2, I don’t care if it is against a much weaker opponent as they both were. And yes, McMurry and the USAO are totally inferior and not worth mentioning to anyone in public. You could get arrested in 13 U.S. States for mentioning that on the street, HA!

The luxury of having that many balls drop even on an empty floor is still a confidence-builder, and I just think that 143.5 is too low of a total to offer us. In addition to that, does anyone remember how many Overs both of these two teams were hitting to end last year? I do, because I will bet that I offered a few of them because I always look at the West Coast for action.

Anyway, UTEP has six players averaging double-digits through the first two games of the season, and 13 players have already seen action for Head Coach Joe Golding. Do yourselves a favour this season, and keep an eye on this UTEP program this year. This team brought in the right mix of new entrants to a trio of starters who welcomed Golding’s ability to bring in talent.

The Gauchos are going to get their 75 points tonight, and I have zero doubt that UTEP will struggle to match that output. If this game’s total doesn’t hit 150 I will be shocked, so add this Over 143.5 to the St. Johns Moneyline and arrive at the NCAAB Monday Night Parlay.

  • Selection: Total Over 143.5 Points
  • Best Odds: 1.91
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 4/10
