This young Magic team is not playing classic basketball, where teams have one primary ball-handler, usually a team point guard, but instead run an offence where everyone gets their share of reps on the ball. Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Wendell Carter are great ball handlers and creators for their size. They won 4 out of the 5 preseason games and looked great overall.

On the other hand, Detroit Pistons run their offence through former number one pick in the draft, Cade Cunningham, a versatile wing playing a role similar to Luka Doncic, just not on that level. The team is young with plenty of talent, but they also have some experienced veterans like Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks, and Nerlens Noel.

They lost all 4 preseason games, 3 out of these 4 by a 15+ points differential.

Cole Anthony led his team with 5.7 assists on average last season, while in the preseason, he played a ton off the ball. Even with playing under 28 minutes, he managed to go over 13.5 points in all 3 games, scoring 19 points vs Dallas, and 17 points vs Cleveland and Memphis, while all 3 are way better defensive teams than the Pistons.
