Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves Preview

Tue, Nov 2nd. 01:00 (UK time)

The Phoenix Suns have, quite expectedly, started the season as one of the top teams in the west and they are sitting in second place in the conference with 5 wins and just 1 loss. They are on a 4-game winning streak and coming off a solid 124-111 win against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Suns are in the middle of a 6-game homestand and are coming into this one well-rested. With Deandre Ayton out with an ankle injury, the Suns still managed to win their last 2 games, and their team is looking solid.

The Suns are boasting the top offence in the league with a rating of 120.4, as well as averaging 118.7 points per game. Their 3-point shooting hasn’t been up to par, but they’ve mostly faced very good teams early in the season. Defensively, they’ve been as solid as one may expect, allowing just 106.3 points per game and ranking 4th in defensive rating. The Suns are undefeated at Footprint Center this season, going 4-0 so far. They were also the second-best home team last year, winning 37 of their 48 games.

When it comes to the T-Wolves, it’s been a mixed bag since the start of the season. They have won 4, lost 3 games, and are currently sitting 6th in the Western Conference standings. They haven’t had the toughest schedule so far, but their record should be mch better. They’ve beaten the OKC Thunder twice, the Lakers and the Spurs. However, they’ve also lost to the Spurs twice and the Utah Jazz by 132-126. This will be the second of their 2-game road trip, but they don’t have any major injury issues.

The Timberwolves are coming into this one after a 107-98 loss to the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center where they shot just 13% from beyond the arc. They have struggled to get going since the start of the season, averaging 115.1 points per game. This by itself isn’t bad, but they’re only making 31.8% of their 3-pointers, and they have yet to face the toughest teams in the west. The Wolves have also allowed an average of 113.1 points per game, allong with 13.7 threes per game, ranking them 25th in the NBA in that regard.

Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves Best Bet

The Phoenix Suns are working well as a team, and home advantage as well as their great team chemistry should easily be enough to get the better of the struggling T-Wolves. The spread is set at just 4.0 points, and I have no problem backing the home team to  cover.
