Portland Trail Blazers vs Sacramento Kings Best Bet: Rainy Night in Portland

Portland Trail Blazers vs Sacramento Kings Best Bet: Wednesday, March 29th
The Portland Trail Blazers take on the Sacramento Kings tonight at Moda Center. This will be the third time these two teams meet up this season, and they are scheduled for another dance on Friday. The Kings have been killing it this season and have won their last encounter against the Blazers by 133-116 at home…
But can they do it on a cold and rainy night in Portland?

I’m saying yes. The Portland Trail Blazers have been a mess for years now, not really knowing what to do with the team and essentially wasting Damian Lillard’s prime on dismal playoff attempts. They did make the conference finals that one year but got swept by the Warriors and never got past the first round. They didn’t make the playoffs last year and won’t be doing it this year either.
The Blazers are 13th in the west with a 32-43 record and are 1-9 over their last 10 games. But the biggest headache for Chauncey Billups is their injury situation. Their injury report looks like a wedding guest list with 8 players listed for tonight. Lillard is out for the season, Simons, Nurkic and Grant may come back at the end of the month, Winslow and Badji continue to sit out, while Trendon Watford and Cam Reddish are questionable.
The Blazers have already had a lot of issues, ranking as one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA at 27th and allowing 116.3 points per game. This number has increased to 120.9 over the last 10 games and with all their injury issues, I don’t think they will be able to bounce back. The good news is, tonight they are playing against a team that is showing little interest in playing defence, so they should at least be able to get to 110 points.
The Sacramento Kings, on the other hand, have been killing it this season. They are 3rd in the west with a 45-30 record and are one of the top teams against the spread, covering in 64% of their road games. Their play has been great even on the road as they are boasting a 22-14 record, the 4th-best in the league. They are coming off a 115-119 home loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but they are one of those teams that can bounce back quickly and this is the perfect opportunity to do so.
But the Kins haven’t earned the 3rd seed due to their stellar defence, no sir. They are in fact, almost as bad as the Blazers. Mike Brown’s squad is ranking 26th in defensive rating and allowing 118.5 points per game. This number has gone up to 120 over the last 10 games and it’s safe to say that they won’t be playing any defence here tonight.

This brings us to our best bet of the night. The Kings had 133 points last time they faced the Blazers and easily went over the 234 total points line. But can they do it on a cold and rainy.. alright, I’ve stopped.
Neither of these sides have fiddled with the dark magic of playing defence, and I don’t expect them to start tonight. Despite missing a lot of players, the Blazers are still a basketball team and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask them to score some points against a team that allows 120 per game, no matter who the opponent is. A lot of bookies are still keeping quiet, but I’m seeing a 235.5 total line at 1xBet and I’m taking it while it’s hot.
