Nice bounce-back win for us on Wednesday with the Knicks easily covering the spread. But that was then and this is now, and we’re back tonight with another value bet in the Kings vs Clippers game. Have a look below for my analysis and best bet at 1.97 odds.

I know what you’re thinking, another Sacramento Kings article? I know we’ve been backing them a lot this season, but what else should we do when a team has this much value? The Sacramento Kings are 3rd in the Western Conference standings with a 36-25 record and currently riding a 4-game winning streak. They are coming off a 117-123 road win against the OKC Thunder on Tuesday, and are returning to Sactown for a 4-game homestand.
The Sacramento Kings have had the best offence in the league this year, ranking top of the league in offensive rating and points per game with 120.7. Their offence is based on a fast pace, a lot of possessions and teamwork. The Kings are 3rd in the league in assists per game with 27.1 per game, along with an average of 13.7 three-pointers. That said, their defence has been non-existent this year, ranking 26th in defensive rating and allowing an average of 118.1 points per game. Though this hasn’t been a problem during the regular season, it certainly will be come playoff time if they don’t make significant changes.
For the Clippers, it’s been a solid season so far, but they haven’t been in the best of shape recently, winning just 4 of their last 10 games. They are on a 4-game losing streak and coming off a 115-91 road loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers have a positive 18-17 road record, but they have only covered the spread in 3 of their last 7 games, and I don’t expect them to do so tonight. Ivica Zubac, Kawhi Leonard and Marcus Morris will be out for tonight’s game whilst Norman Powell is listed as ‘questionable’.
The Clippers play a much different game style compared to the Kings, with a pace rating of just 97.8. They are 20th in offensive rating and averaging just 112.1 points per game. Over the last 5 games, the Clippers have ranked 21st in net rating, whilst also ranking 29th in turnover percentage. They have been struggling a lot recently and with one of their two superstars out, I see some solid value in fading them.
The Sacramento Kings are in great shape at the moment and this is a great opportunity for them to get another win and cover the spread. They are an offensive powerhouse, and the Clippers’ defence hasn’t been very good of late. I see the 6-point spread as too low.
