Sacramento Kings vs Memphis Grizzlies Bet Builder Tips: Thursday, October 27th
Owners of a 3-1 record, the Memphis Grizzlies are favoured by a handful of points in Sacramento on Thursday night. The Kings, for all the preseason ambition and justified optimism, are 0-3 on the young season. Part of that poor start can be attributed to a tricky schedule, and each game has at least been competitive, but in a deep Western Conference, Sacramento needs to arrest this slide sooner rather than later.
The Grizzlies are coming off an emphatic win over the Brooklyn Nets, where Ja Morant and Desmond Bane shined on offence once again.

The Grizz are seventh in offensive rating thus far and remarkably dead-last in defence. That defence is partly down to some great opponent shooting, but the absence of Jaren Jackson Jr clearly weakens them on that end. As a result, they have hit the over in three of their four games. It is just one of three for the Kings, but this looks set to be a high-scoring game.
Both offences like to get out and run with their turbo-heeled point guards in Morant and De’Aaron Fox. This total is set at 236.5, a number Memphis has gone over in half of their games so far, and Sacramento has gone under in two of three. It’s hard to feel great about the over at that number, so let’s nudge it down.
If these offences are going to tick, it means Morant and Fox have had big nights. Morant is averaging over 35 points per game this season. Fox is at 31.7 points and making three outside shots per game. This game is poised for a proper duel between the two lead guards, racing up and down the floor from the first tip.
Fox has picked up where he left off last season, scoring 26 or more in all three games. Morant’s one blip was a 20-point effort in the hammering at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. Backing a high-scoring game, it makes sense to pair strong performances from the leading scorers. Fox has covered his lower alternate line in all three games. Morant has hit his points over in three of four.

Equally as important to Fox in the Kings’ offence, Domantas Sabonis is at the centre (pardon the pun) of a key duel here with Steven Adams.
Winning the rebounding battle is always important, but particularly so for two teams who can be very effective on the offensive glass. Sabonis’ two-man game with Fox is a staple of the Kings’ offence – he has shown his playmaking through the first three games, with an average of 5.3 assists. The former Pacer also averages 9.3 rebounds and could get into doubles figures against a Memphis team which is below average in opponent rebound totals.
Sabonis has passed this assists and rebounds line in his last two. With extra possessions from a high-paced game, we’re taking the over here.
- Over 231.5 points
- De’Aaron Fox Over 20.5 points
- Ja Morant Over 24.5 points
- Domantas Sabonis Over 15.5 rebounds and assists
