There are 6 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with really high class and competitive flat racing from Chepstow, Goodwood, Sandown and York. The Listed Ganton Stakes at 3.30pm provides a fascinating contest over a mile on the Knavesmire, while there are five tough handicaps for punters to solve at the Esher venue. NH fans have the cards at Aintree and Newton Abbot to get stuck into, with huge crowds likely at both and the ground likely to be a lot softer than you would normally expect at this time of year.

Sandown 2:50pm
Tom Clover is very much a young trainer to follow over the next few seasons, with a cracking team of horses to go to war with, and this unexposed filly shaped nicely when in need of the run on her seasonal reappearance at Nottingham 35 days ago. She travelled like one ahead of her mark there on handicap debut, just fading from the furlong pole, and there should be plenty more improvement in the tank after just five career starts so far (with her ability to handle cut in the ground proven at Epsom last year).

Sandown 2:20pm
Kevin Philippart De Foy’s 3-y-o returned to his very best form when well backed at Goodwood 7 days ago, coming from miles off the pace to throw down a strong challenge inside the final furlong but just denied. He should now be spot on fitnesswise after three runs this season, and the stiffer uphill finish at Sandown should suit ideally with Benoit de las Sayette again booked for the ride (and taking off a very handy 5lb in this competitive looking handicap).
Odds: TBD
