Today’s Racing Tips – June 11th

There are six races covered live by ITV racing on Saturday, with the cameras as Chester, Sandown and York. An unsettled week of weather in the UK should mean that conditions may be on the easier side by the weekend, and punters should perhaps bare that in mind when making their selections (with most the recent form coming on faster ground in the opening months of the turf season). There are four competitive handicaps to solve, while the quality comes in the listed contests at 2.50pm at Sandown (where some crack sprinters are entered for the Scurry Stakes), and the 3.05pm at York (where the stayers will have to prove their stamina over the sapping 1m6f trip).

He should relish this drop down to listed company here, while the stiff five furlongs at this track should suit ideally under Adam Kirby.

14:00	YORK	KINGOFTHEMIDLANDS	Andrew Balding’s 4-y-o remains a maiden after 5 career starts, but he has often shaped well in defeat and probably did too much too soon from the front on his seasonal debut at Goodwood at the start of June.

15:05	YORK	WITHOUT A FIGHT	Simon and Ed Crisford’s stayer perhaps overdid things on the front when a slightly disappointing third at Newbury 28 days ago, and more patient tactics should suit ideally under Andrea Atzeni at York on Saturday.
15:20	CHESTER	WODETON	Andrew Balding’s handicapper hand been progressing nicely until finding conditions too deep at Goodwood 22 days ago, weakening out of things having taken a keen grip in the early stages. He should relish this sight drop down in trip on better ground at Chester, and there should be plenty more in the tank after just sic career starts (and a very promising reappearance in April).
