The ITV cameras concentrate solely on Epsom on Saturday, with the Cazoo Derby at 4.30pm sure to be the big betting heat of the afternoon. Sir Michael Stoute has the current favourite in the unbeaten Desert Crown, and a victory for him would see some emotional scenes in the winners enclosure (particularly coming so soon after the death of the legendary Lester Piggott last weekend. There is a cracking supporting card on show, with the Dash at 3.45pm the fastest sprint trip in the country and all the usual top class handicappers assembled to blitz down the hill in around 59 seconds.

Richard Spencer’s 3-y-o could not overcome a troubled run through from rear at Newbury last time out when well backed, but he got the hang of things late there finishing well and should relish a strongly run race here with a bit of cut in the ground (with the yard enjoying a really good first few weeks on the turf).

14:00	EPSOM	MR BIG STUFF	Richard Spencer’s 3-y-o could not overcome a troubled run through from rear at Newbury last time out when well backed, but he got the hang of things late there finishing well and should relish a strongly run race here with a bit of cut in the ground (with the yard enjoying a really good first few weeks on the turf).
14:35	EPSOM	ROMAN MIST	Tom Ward’s reliable filly returned to her best in listed company at Kempton last time out, doing well to prevail on the nod in a tight finish (having raced up the inside which is usually a disadvantage), and she should relish a return to turf here upped to Group 3 company.
15:10	EPSOM	MUTASAABEQ	This progressive 4-y-o looked a shade unlucky when touched off by Lights On in the Bet365 Mile at Sandown last time out, travelling strongest on the bridle when seeing no daylight at a crucial stage, and he is fancied to gain compensation under Jim Crowley. He has won 4 of his 8 career starts so far, and is likely to represent much better value than the short priced favourite Modern News (who did not impress when landing long odds-on at Windsor 26 days ago.

16:30	EPSOM	STONE AGE	Aidan O’Brien holds a typically strong hand in this fascinating renewal of the Epsom Derby, and his improving 3-y-o is fancied to continue his upward curve in recent months. He created a really good impression when making all of the running in warm company at Navan and Leopardstown (heavily backed each time/looked a very straightforward ride), and this step up to 1m4f should certainly suit given his relentless galloping run style. The current favourite Desert Crown is entitled to plenty of respect, but his lack of experience could be an issue in there this much bigger field, and he makes little appeal at under 2/1 given those concerns.
