Both UFC Best Bets for UFC 276 were wins and earned a nice +10.43 units of profit, but Saturday is almost here already and the UFC is back for another Fight Night. This time, the main event will feature a veteran of the game Rafael dos Anjos taking on the young striking maestro in Rafael Fiziev. Have a look at the article below for my fight analysis & best bet.

Rafael Dos Anjos vs Rafael Fiziev Best Bet

Saturday, July 10th Approx  04:00 (UK time)

After almost a 2 year break Rafael dos Anjos, made his return to the cage in March this year against Renato Moicano and capped off his comeback with a nice decision victory. He now holds a record of 31 wins and 13 losses, with 2 KO/TKO defeats. Remember that. Dos Anjos is known in the Lightweight division as a very well-rounded fighter who can do damage both in stand-up and on the ground. That said, he turns 38 in October and he is facing a very dangerous opponent here.

With RDA, as good a striker as he can be, we haven’t seen him in his element recently, losing to Leon Edwards, Michael Chiesa and barely beating Paul Felder and Renato Moicano on short notice. He is known for his high-volume striking, explosive takedowns, and deadly gound-and-pound. That said, he was unable to put away his last 2 opponents, and despite coming very close to putting away Moicano, he came up short.

Rafael Fiziev started his fighting journey by training Muay-Thai at the age of 11 and transitioned to MMA in 2015. After 4 years of fighting in various Asian promotions, Fiziev got a chance to compete in the UFC. His MAM record is 11 wins, 8 of which were by KO/TKO/DQ or Sub, and just 1 loss. He is currently ranked 10th in the UFC Lightweight division, and beating the 7th-ranked fighter would go a long way in bumping the young buck into the title contender conversation.

When it comes to this one, Fiziev is by far the better striker and at 29 years of age, he is just entering his prime. Fiziev has immense explosive striking power, having easily knocked out Renato Moicano and Brad Riddell. His cardio is very good, and he invests a lot in leg kicks and strikes to the body, and in a 5-round fight, this is always a huge advantage. Grappling could be RDA’s point of focus  in this fight, but Fiziev has a career takedown defence of 95%, and he should be able to use kicks and movement to avoid them here. The majority of bettors are backing Fiziev to win, so we have to look for betting value in the more specific markets. Fiziev to win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission is available at 3.25 odds at Bet365, and I see this bet as the best one available.

Selection: Fiziev to WIn by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission

Best Odds: 3.25 (Bet365)

Stakes: 3/10
