With the main event out of the way, it’\s time to find some undervalued fights in the lower part of the card. We have Antonina Shevchenko taking on Cortney Casey, as well as Ronnie Lawrence facing Saidyokub Kakhramonov in the prelim card. These are by no means big names in the UFC, but the betting value is with them this Saturday night.

UFC Fight Night Picks:

  • Ronnie Lawrence vs Saidyokub Kakhramonov: Kakhramonov to Win 2.15
  • Antonina Shevchenko vs Cortney Casey: Casey to Win

Odds as at 02:30 pm July 8th  2022. Odds may now differ.

Ronnie Lawrence vs Saidyokub Kakhramonov Best Bet

Ronnie Lawrence will have his 3rd fight in the UFC this Saturday, and the bookmakers have him at 1.72 odds to win, whilst Kakhramonov can be found at 2.15. Both fighters lack experience but are very promising prospects in the Bantamweight division and it’s surprising to see them in the prelims. Lawrence has established a reputation for being a very powerful striker and a takedown artist, averaging 9.15 takedowns per 15 in his UFC stint so far. However, his recent performance against mana Martinez has revealed some of his weaknesses, like his durability.

On the other side of the cage, we have Saidyokub Kakhramonov, a 26-year-old powerhouse prospect out of Uzbekistan, who just made his UFC debut at the end of 2021. He has a career record of 9 wins and 2 losses, and only 2 of his victories have come via decision. He is very dangerous both on the ground and standing up, and he has a very realistic chance of putting his opponent away this Saturday.  Kakhramonov’s toughest opponent so far has been Umar Nurmagomedov, a very dangerous fighter with a 15-0 MMA record. The Kazakhstani has sharper striking skills, better durability and cardio, and it’s definitely worth backing him as an underdog.

Selection: Saidyokub Kakhramonov to Win

Best Odds: 2.15 (Unibet)

Stakes: 5/10

Antonina Shevchenko vs Cortney Casey Best Bet

Don’t let the last name fool you, Antonina Shevchenko has lost 3 of her last 4 fights, and is coming off a TKO loss to Cassey O’Neil in October. Despite having an extensive background in Kickboxing and Muay-Thai, Antonina Shevchenko hasn’t been able to build a successful career in the sport of MMA and holds a record of 9 wins and 4 losses. Most of her wins have come at the early stages of her career, before joining the UFC, and she has earned just 2 victories in the last 3 years.

Cortney Casey has been tasked with bringing home an underdog bet at 2.50 odds against an opponent with a formidable last name, but can she make it happen? She just might. Casey is facing an opponent two years her senior at 37 coming off a TKO loss a few months ago, whilst she herself just won a huge decision victory. But let’s face it, the value here isn’t in her abilities as a fighter, holding an MMA record of 10 wins and 9 losses, but in the betting odds and her opponent’s terrible form. Don’t expect a spectacular scrap between these two Flyweights, but if you’re thinking of putting some loose change down, backing the dog at 2.50 odds is the best option.

Selection: Cortney Casey to Win

Best Odds: 2.50 (Unibet)

Stakes: 2/10
