Anna Bondar vs Kateryna Baindl Prediction, Picks, Odds, H2H, Stats - 8/6/24
Anna Bondar carries the 4-seed at the Hamburg Open and the Hungarian will take on Kateryna Baindl in the second round as the favorite. EJ Garr’s Anna Bondar vs Kateryna Baindl prediction features odds at +150 which can be found below.
At -170, Bondar brings a 6-match win streak into the second round with expectations to push the run to seven to reach the quarterfinal of this WTA125 event on clay.
Kateryna Baindl had no issue with her first-round opponent in Germany but the Ukraine native is still ranked outside the top 300 as she takes on 94th-ranked Bondar.

Anna Bondar vs Kateryna Baindl Prediction: A Hungry Hungarian in Germany
- Prediction: Anna Bondar 2 – 0 Exact Sets
- Best Odds: +150

Odds updated atf 7:00 am UK Time on August 6, 2024.
It will be a light day at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center on Tuesday as only five matches will be on the schedule including one from the first round.
Bondar and Baindl will contest one of four second-round affairs at the Hamburg Open this afternoon, and the Hungarian is expected to be in the quarterfinal.
Bondar has reeled off six straight wins in Germany after taking the title at Hechingen last weekend. Anna wasn’t a part of the Olympic Games for Hungary so she entered the WTA75 event to stay focused and in shape for another run at the Hamburg trophy.
With the list of players in this tournament, Bondar could make a decent run at this title with the players lined up in the top half of the bracket. Until the meeting with Mayar Sherif, should the Egyptian hold up that 1-seed, I can envision Anna Bondar in the semifinals of the Hamburg Open.
Baindl has been competing in low-level events all season, and when any WTA125 event is a step up that says something. Outside of the two appearances at the French Open and Wimbledon which both ended ugly, Baindl’s rank will never move as long as she heeps entering small tournaments.
Anna Bondar is about to put Baindl out of this event and the Hungarian will do it emphatically. I originally had the -2.5 handicap in mind but I have decided to go after the correct sets prop, and the 2 – 0 Bondar in straights shows +150!
ANNA BONDAR RECENT FORM
Anna Bondar went 5 – 0 en route to the Hechingen title last week and the win in the first round at Hamburg gives the Hungarian a 6-match win streak entering this second-round clash with Baindl.
Anna has won three titles at the WTA75 level this season (ITF) and has a 28 – 13 record on clay this year. Bondar has accumulated a 112 – 54 record on clay over the last four campaigns but don’t ask her to play on the grass (0 – 6 career)
KATERYNA BAINDL RECENT FORM
Kateryna Baindl is 9 – 7 on clay this season but from 2016 through 2022 the Ukraine native was always at or near the top-100 in the rankings. Kateryna fell to 192nd in the rankings last season and now sits in the 310th spot.
Baindl hasn’t hoisted a trophy since 2017 at any level and for the third straight campaign could finish with a losing record despite playing in so many low-level events.
BONDAR VS BAINDL H2H – STAT OF THE MATCH
This will be the first meeting between Anna Bondar and Kateryna Baindl on any surface.
