Eva Lys faced Jasmine Poalini in Dubai this past February, and the Italian native sealed a straight-sets win in the early round battle at the UAE. Lys is ranked 68th on the WTA Tour and is coming off a horrendous effort against Panna Udvardy. 

Lys was favored at -225 to get past 137th-ranked Udvardy at La Bisbol D’Emporda after two wins in Spain, and a three-set loss was less than inspiring.

Paolini is just starting her clay campaign, and we all know how that went last year for the Italian World’s #6. A run to the French Open final was a complete surprise, and now the expectations have been increased.

When I first saw the -250 line posted, I honestly didn’t think we would get a nice price on the sweep potential, but bet365 is offering +110 on the potential for the sweep.

We all know Jasmine isn’t going to overpower Lys, and it’s not like Eva Lys has a big serve or much power to speak of in her own right. Small in stature, these ladies are huge in heart, but I have to roll with my fellow Italian native and let her roll over the German.

Lys’ experience on clay isn’t filled with success, and she has yet to come close to winning a title on the dirt. With Jasmine’s experience last year, proving that she can handle playing on dirt, an opening-round sweep of Lys is coming, so get your action on the board.

Lys is 37 – 31 in her career on the dirt, and hasn’t won a tournament title of any nature since the 2022 campaign.

Jasmine Paolini went 4 – 0 in Miami before losing to Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals.

Paolini went 12 – 6 on hardcourts to start the season, but all four of her titles on clay have been at the ITF/Challenge level.
