Day 2 of the Wimbledon Main Draw features another full slate of action, and Barbora Krejcikova will face Veronika Kudermetova as part of Tuesday’s busy schedule in London.
EJ Garr started the week with a winner on Monday, and his Barbora Krejcikova vs Veronika Kudermetova prediction features odds at -105 which you can find below.
Kudermetova is the favorite for this match with odds close to -140, and despite struggling to find wins, she is expected to get past Krejcikova. The Czech native has also had her issues in 2024, making this an interesting match to open the Main Draw in London so let’s hit the court!

Confidence! It’s a powerful word, and even more powerful emotion because when you have it things seem to work out in your favor more often than not.
Neither Barbora Krejckova nor Veronika Kudermetova has a lick of confidence coming into Wimbledon but if either woman has some fight in her, I see it in Kudermetova.
I will give Kudermetova the edge in this match because she knows how to beat Krejcikova and has looked good on the grass this season. Veronika earned three wins in Berlin to build a little confidence in a season that is not going well.
Krejcikova had a big letdown on clay this year losing all four of her tournament entries in the opening match (0 – 4). Her two wins on the grass at Birmingham ultimately led to a bad loss to Potapova and she was one and done at Eastbourne in her final tuneup for Wimbledon.
I am not impressed with Krejcikova’s game right now, and I get why she is the underdog against Kudermetova in her first match in the London Major. I see this as an opportunity for Kudermetova to win this match and eventually advance to the third round in Section 2.
At -105, I suggest the -1.5 Games Handicap with Kudermetova earning her fourth straight win over Krejcikova.
Krejcikova is 2 – 2 on the grass which followed up a dismal 0 – 4 record on clay. She earned two wins in Berlin before being dismantled by Potapova, and in her last match, Leylah Fernandez handed her a 3-set loss in Eastbourne.
Barbora hasn’t won three consecutive matches since her run at the Australian Open quarters in January, and the odds of it happening in London are close to zero.
Kudermetova is 5 – 3 on the grass this year following up a 7 – 2 season in 2023 on this surface. She carries a 30 – 18 record on the grass in her career but has never advanced past a quarterfinal appearance on the surface.
With a 12 – 16 overall record in 2024, Veronika has fallen from 19th to 38th in the WTA rankings after breaking into the top 10 in 2022.
Kudermetova is 3 – 1 having won the last three meetings with Krejcikova.
This is their first meeting on grass, but they first met in the 2018 campaign on clay at the French Open. Krejcikova won that battle, and it’s the last time she has defeated her.
In 2022, Kudermetova earned a straight-set win in Cincinnati, and last year they played a 3-set affair in Doha that went to her.
This past April, they met in Stuttgart and Kudermetova again needed 3 sets to get past Krejcikova.
