Elina Svitolina has only dropped one set as she takes on Xinyu Wang in the fourth round at Wimbledon, and the Ukrainian national lands the role of the favorite. At -200, Svitolina is eyeing a second straight semifinal appearance at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and a third overall in her career.

Despite a limited amount of experience on the grass, Svitolina has enjoyed two deep runs at the grass Major but Xinyu Wang has other ideas in mind.

Xinyu Wang has enjoyed some success at Wimbledon, and for the third time in her career has a 3-match win streak in London.

All three of Wang’s contests at Wimbledon have gone the distance, and EJ Garr’s Elina Svitolina vs Xinyu Wang prediction reflects a similar outcome on Monday so check it out below.

Elina Svitolina dropped one set to Magda Linette in the first round at Wimbledon, and it’s the only blip on the screen as the Ukrainian eyes her third semifinal appearance in London.

Last season, Svitolina progressed to the semis at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and a straight-sets loss to Marketa Vondrousova ended her grass campaign with a 5 – 2 record. In 2019, Simona Halep ended her first run to the semifinals in London but let’s get into Svitolina’s overall experience on grass.

I have more concerns about her game on grass than I do confidence that the Ukrainian national can get past Wang at all. Being favored at -200 does nothing to make me shy away from a small Moneyline bet on Wang to upset Svitolina, and this match is going the distance giving me a pair of noce bets to place on this fourth-round battle.

First, the Over 2.5 Sets prop is +140 at Unibet and +137 at Pinnacle. The lines will fluctuate from book to book so I hope you get a nice price when they go to a third set and you have a ticket to cash in your hand.

At +175, Wang makes my underdog call of the week on a Monday in London. The +3 is fairly priced at -105, and you can gladly settle for that handicap if you are putting a parlay on the board and need that extra bet.

This match will be going 3 sets and Wang will be making an appearance in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon to face the winner of the match between Rybakina and Kalinskaya.

Svitolina has made two deep runs to the semifinals at Wimbledon, her last coming a season ago as mentioned above.

Elina doesn’t play in many grass events outside of the Major in London. This year, she played one match and lost at Bad Homburg as a tune-up for Wimbledon, which is why she is 1 – 3 on grass in 2024.

Svitolina made her first appearance at Wimbledon in 2012, and she didn’t pick up her first win in London until 2015 going 0 – 3 to start her career in the Major.

Overall, Svitolina is 25 – 23 on the grass in her career.

Wang entered the grass Major ranked 42nd in the world, and a win over Svitolina as an underdog would likely improve that status.

Wang has played three matches in London, and all three of her affairs have gone the distance needing 3-sets to advance each time.

Xinyu’s first appearance at Wimbledon came in 2017, and after a pair of wins her tourney came to an end against Simona Waltert. Wang entered the Major again in 2018, and all she did was advance to her first semifinal on grass with a loss to Iga Swiatek that ended that run.

Overall, Wang is 22 – 11 on the grass in her career, and her most recent win over a confident Harriet Dart along with the upset over Pegula has the Chinese native playing with confidence.

Today’s fourth-round clash will be the first time that Svitolina and Wang will be facing each other on the WTA Tour.
