Emma Navarro vs Mirra Andreeva Prediction: American Chalked in Cincy
- Prediction: Emma Navarro -1.5 Games Handicap
- Best Odds: -108
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on August 14, 2024.
It will be interesting to see where Mirra Andreeva’s head is after taking the Iasi Open title and then losing at the Olympic Games two days later. Going from one highlight to a big lowlight could have an effect and the fact that she hasn’t played in 17 days could also be a factor.
Navarro being listed at -140 is no surprise to me and the good thing about the lowball offer is the game handicap is a perfect place to look for the dough. Pinnacle is only asking -108 for the -1,5 Handicap, so instead of drinking the juice on the ML offer that is the way to go.
The run to the Iasi title for Andreeva is all well and good but the list of names she had to run through isn’t exactly filled with high-profile names. The biggest win in the 5 – 0 run to the Isai Open title is arguably against 111th-ranked Olga Danilovic in the semis. Avanesyan wasn’t even able to finish the final match and Emma Navarro is ranked 13th looking for redemption for Toronto.
Emma carries the 11-seed in this WTA1000 event, and ironically, her first win in Toronto came against Andreeva’s opponent in the Olympics. Magda Linette tore down Andreeva in straight sets in Paris, and Linette got smacked around by Navarro in Toronto 11 days later.
I have Emma advancing and covering the -1.5 games against Andreeva and the price at -108 suits us fine.
EMMA NAVARRO RECENT FORM
Emma reached the semifinal in Toronto before being ousted by a revamped Amanda Anisimova. Navarro’s serve was an issue in Toronto and it reared its ugly head in the semis after giving Anisimova 11 chances to break.
With only a 47% first-serve and six double faults, that has got to be cleaned up immediately in a Section 1 bracket featuring Jasmine Paolini and Iga Swiatek.
Navarro is 23 – 8 on hardcourts and has a 45 – 18 record this campaign including a run to the Hobart title to start the year.
MIRRA ANDREEVA RECENT FORM
Mirra Andreeva is ranked 24th on the WTA Tour and is still only 17!
Andreeva is 6 – 4 on hardcourts this season and has a 17 – 9 record over the last two years on the surface.
The Iasi Open title run before the Olympics was the fifth tournament win on clay and her first WTA-level win since turning pro.
NAVARRO VS ANDREEVA H2H – STAT OF THE MATCH
Emma Navarro and Mirra Andreeva have yet to meet on the WTA Tour on any surface.
