Jelena Ostapenko and Katie Boulter will battle in the second round at the Eastbourne Invitational on Wednesday, and the line is about even on either woman to advance.

Ostapenko has competed at Eastbourne on 8 occasions and she has advanced to this stage of the event each time, although her recent struggles have the oddsmakers questioning her ability to progress in this WTA 500 tournament.

Boulter has been enjoying her time in the UK with a title win at Eastbourne already in hand, and EJ Garr’s Jelena Ostapenko vs Katie Boulter prediction might just favor the Brit so check it out below.

Jelena Ostapenko vs Katie Boulter Prediction: A Happy Brit in the UK

  • Prediction: Katie Boulter Moneyline
  • Best Odds: -103
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time June 26, 2024. Odds may now differ.

Jelena Ostapenko was the defending champion at the Birmingham Classic, and she kicked off her 2024  grass campaign with a straight-sets loss to +350 Underdog Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the first round.

That’s not the best way to start the grass season for the Latvian native who is only 13 – 10 over her last 23 games but still holds the 13th ranking on the WTA Tour.

With a relieving win over Greejt Mirren in the first round here in Eastbourne, Ostapenko has a perfect 8 – 0 in the first round of this event since her first entry in 2015.

Jelena had to endure a first-set tie-break before the smooth 6 – 1 second set win against Minnen in the first round, and Minnen had her shot to change everything. Up 6 – 5 and serving for the opening frame, had Greejt held serve we are having an entirely different conversation right now.

Katie Boulter is feeling right at home at the moment. That’s because Leicester is home, and her fans have been treated to a nice run of late. Boulter bashed her way through Nottingham with a run to the title, and now she has a chance to back it up with a second title on grass before Wimbledon, which has already started qualifying.

If you are going to the match, yell out to her that she is +700 to win Eastbourne, and let’s see how far she takes it!

I have more faith in Boulter at home on grass than I do in a struggling Ostapenko whether she is ranked 13th in the world or not. IF the line setters ask us for $3 of vig on Boulter to advance, than that’s the bet to make up for yesterday’s loss, which I apoligize for!

JELENA OSTAPENKO RECENT FORM

Ostapenko is 1 – 1 on grass this season which followed up a 6 – 4 campaign in the clay swing.

Jelena has reached the quarterfinals in four of her last five appearances at Eastbourne, and that includes her run to the title in 2021.

KATIE BOULTER RECENT FORM

Boulter defended her Nottingham title with success, and she carries a 6 – 1 record on grass into this second round clash.

Katie is 29 – 12 on grass over the last four campaigns, and it appears as if whatever illness she was dealing with in Birmingham is no longer a concern. Boulter is playing for one of the 32 seeded spots at Wimbledon

OSTAPENKO VS BOULTER HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Today’s match at the Eastbourne Invitational marks the first time that Jelena Ostapenko and Katie Boulter have met on the WTA Tour on any surface.
