Friday Tennis Best Bet: ATP Wimbledon, Mikael Ymer vs Daniel Galan

Mikael Ymer vs Daniel Galan Best Bet: Friday, July 7th
It was a terrific start from Harols Mayot, who dominated the first set. The strong serving was also there for the most part, but losing the second and third set saw things turn negative, before he blew his break-of-serve lead in the fourth to ensure his exit.
For Friday, we’ll look at the match between Mikael Ymer and Daniel Galan.

Mikael Ymer vs Daniel Galan Preview
Fri, July 7th, 14:00 (UK Time)
It was an incredible comeback for Ymer on Thursday against one of the favourites in the third quarter of the draw. After looking down and out with American Taylor Fritz leading by two sets and a break of serve, Ymer took over and dominated the final part of that contest.
His reward? A third-round match that is a tad easier – almost by default – against the Colombian.
While he’s not the typical South American that doesn’t possess power and is only good on clay courts, he’s still far from an overwhelming power player who specialises on quicker surfaces.
I wouldn’t doubt his ability to serve well and back it up with his forehand, but outside of that, Galan should be in trouble against a much more natural hard courter and low-bouncing court kind of player in the Swede.
Further, Ymer is coming off a tough match against a bigger server and hitter from the baseline and also a more well-rounded player in Fritz. With Ymer’s strength being his ability to start points on return and prolong them to bring them back to neutral footing, Ymer should look like the much more competent player from the baseline.
Further, while Galan’s pace of shots may be useful on grass, the lower bounce and rushed nature of returning could pose problems for the 27-year-old.
This is a really good chance for Ymer to work his way into the second week of the biggest tennis tournament on earth.
Mikael Ymer vs Daniel Galan Best Bet
For me, Ymer should be an even larger favourite to win this match, particularly in four sets or fewer.
The matchup works well, he should find plenty of chances to apply pressure on return, isn’t facing nearly a big of a hitter or as consistent of a baseliner this round and his consistency should be able to draw plenty of errors from the racquet of a sometimes-volatile Galan.
I’ll back Ymer to win this in either three or four sets.
