Monday Tennis Best Bet: ATP Astana, Felix Auger Aliassime vs Roberto Bautista Agut
Felix Auger Aliassime vs Roberto Bautista Agut Best Bet: Monday, October 3rd
Another new week on the ATP Tour sees a pair of 500-level events take centre stage, as the Kazakh capital of Astana and the Japanese capital of Tokyo host a slew of big names.
After finishing last week on a positive note with Marc Andrea Huesler beating Kamil Majchrzak (he went on to win the whole tournament), we’ll take to Astana for Monday’s selection in the more star-studded field of the two, as Felix Auger Aliassime takes on wily veteran Roberto Bautista Agut.

Felix Auger Aliassime vs Roberto Bautista Agut Preview
October 3rd, 14:30 UK Time
Trying to figure out how exactly Auger Aliassime will play on any given day can be a tough task. There are, however, ways to approach his matches with regards to the betting markets. With incredible athleticism for his height, a booming serve and potent groundstrokes, he can be an absolute wonder to back as an underdog against some of the top names in the game.
His inconsistencies, frequent errors and lack of any kind of tactical play (playing with more margin when situations call for it and constructing points when he can’t overpower his opposition) means when he’s a favourite, he’s often vulnerable to players that are mentally sharp, as well as consistent from the baseline, allowing them to coax those unforced errors from the Canadian.
Enter Bautista Agut, who fits that bill perfectly. His never-say-die attitude is well-documented, his consistency from the baseline and ball retrieval skills are also a fundamental part of his game, and the way he counterpunches and moves the ball around the court often comes with a purpose.
With the ability to trouble his younger counterpart, I’ll be looking for a way to back the Spaniard.
Felix Auger Aliassime vs Roberto Bautista Agut Best Bet
This match is a solid example of two players with completely opposite strengths and weaknesses. Yet the underdog’s strengths just so happen to match up well in this position.
Auger Aliassime is very likely to control stretches with his more powerful game and when he’s able to find a purple patch with his serve.
Conversely, Bautista Agut is also likely to find stretches of success when the Canadian’s game struggles to keep the ball in court and there isn’t really a “Plan B” for him to fall back on.
As a result, I have this one being a close affair far more often than not, and will look to back outcomes that present value in closer matches.
