Olga Danilovic and Anca Todoni will meet in the second round in the fourth version of the Iasi Open on Tuesday, and the Romanian native will be listed as the underdog. EJ Garr’s Olga Danilovic vs Anca Todoni prediction features odds at +150 so get in on the action below.

Todoni is one of four remaining Romanian players trying to keep the tradition alive, as a Dacia native has walked away with the trophy in all three previous events. This fourth version of the tournament will have at least one Romanian in the quarterfinal, and be sure to catch Ej’s prediction for the Ruse vs Cristian match.

Danilovic is a slight favorite at odds of -125, as the Serbian native would love to be the one who snaps the run of Romanian success at the Iasi Open.

Olga Danilovic vs Anca Todoni Open Prediction: We’re Going the Distance

  • Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
  • Best Odds: +150
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated  7:00 am UK Time July 23, 2024.

That’s right, we’re going the distance today in Romania so thank you for stopping by and we’ll see you tomorrow, HA!

Each of these ladies arrived at this second-round affair differently as Danilovic took out the 4-seed to open her Iasi ledger and Todoni didn’t even need to finish her first-round match to get here.

Danilovic went the distance against Anna Blinkova who brought the 4-seed into the main draw of the Iasi Open, and the Serbian was the big favorite at -200 despite being ranked 148th in the world. Blinkova is ranked 71st on the WTA Tour, and now you are starting to understand why I say the rankings reveal nothing.

Todoni is ranked 119th in the world, so what help did that give you to come up with your bets for this affair? This is an evenly-matched affair and the line setters aren’t giving anything away as to who will win or lose.

At -125, Danilovic might be expected to reach the quarterfinals in Romania, but Rodoni has home-court advantage with all of the crowd support in her favor. Attendance at the fourth version of this WTA250 event hasn’t been overwhelming, but Todoni will have the audience on her side to make her feel at home.

Todoni was cruising against her first-round opponent Aliona Falei, up 5 games to love before the qualifier walked off the court outmatched. Todoni was a big favorite to get past Falei and now the Romanian is the slight underdog.

I expect this match to feature at least one tie-breaking set but the Over 2.5 Sets prop at +150 is the best bet to make with plenty of value behind it.

OLGA DANILOVIC RECENT FORM

Danilovic has a doubles match right after her singles affair so it will be a long day of tennis for the Serbian native.

Olga is 17 – 8 on clay this year and has never suffered a losing season on the dirt. With a record of 94 – 45 on clay, Danilovic is eyeing her seventh career title on clay, and the first since hoisting the 2023 Bastad hardware.

ANCA ALEXIA TODONI RECENT FORM

Todoni was 46 – 12 last season on the dirt and her record this year on clay stands at 16 – 7.

Anca Alexia is ranked 119th on the WTA Tour and has her sights set on breaking into the top 100 for the first time as a 19-year-old.

Todoni has six career titles on the clay including the Bari Challenger this season after lifting four trophies in 2023 on this surface.

DANILOVIC VS TODONI HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Danilovic and Todoni have met twice and both affairs took place this season at Major Tournaments.

At the French Open, Danilovic got past Todoni in three sets in a quarterfinal match at the Major in Paris.

At Wimbledon, Todoni returned the favor with a straight-sets win at the London Major early in the Major tournament.

Whoever wins this battle will face the winner of the match between Marina Bassols Ribera and Anna Bondar in the quarterfinal of the Iasi Open.
