Rebecca Sramkova and Mariam Bolkvadze will square off in a first-round battle at the Warsaw Challenger on Monday, and as expected the Slovakian will play the role of favorite.

At -200 and higher, Sramkova is trying to break into the top 100 WTA rankings following a quarterfinal exit in Budapest to Eva Lys.

Mariam Bolkvadze enters Poland ranked 257th in the world as she attempts to pick up her first main draw win on clay since 2021.

EJ Garr’s Rebecca Sramkova vs Mariam Bolkvadze prediction leans on the favorite but features odds at +125 which you can find below.

Rebecca Sramkova vs Mariam Bolkvadze Prediction: Slovakian Favored in First Round Clash

  • Prediction: Rebecca Sramkova 2 – 0 Correct Sets
  • Best Odds: +125
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time July 22, 2024.

I will cut to the chase and hit you early with this prediction. At -3 on the handicap, I see Sramkova dismantling Bolkvadze as the Georgia native hasn’t played a match on clay in two years. We don’t need to settle for that because the correct set prop bet at Bet365 features odds at +125. When Sramkova sweeps the Georgian out of Warsaw we cash a ticket with some value behind it.

Bolkvadze’s only main draw win on the dirt came at the 2021 French Open, and I am trying to figure out why the line setters are showing her this much respect. Listen, I get that Sramkova is ranked outside the top 100, but that could all change this week with a nice run in this WTA125 event.

Sramkova has the 1-seed in this Polska tourney, and the Slovak has a nice draw that could send her to the semifinals, at worst! Yes, I am calling for Rebecca to make that run and it starts today with a pushover win against an opponent Sramkova should cruise against.

I admit I haven’t seen much from Bolkvadze because she plays in lower-tier events, but I know she is a southpaw who has done well in her doubles career which ended this season. The biggest hindrance I see is the lack of experience on clay at any level, and that will be why Sramkova wins in straight sets en route to the second round of the Warsaw Challenger.

REBECCA SRAMKOVA RECENT FORM

Sramkova is 14 – 8 on clay this season and has earned three tournament wins on the dirt at the ITF level. The Slovak is on the verge of breaking into the top 100 of the WTA rankings for the first time, and as the top seed in Warsaw, the pressure to win is on her now.

Rebecca is 25 – 15 this year overall and has a WTA50 title to her credit which banked her 40K.

MARIAM BOLKVADZE RECENT FORM

The Georgian lefty has nothing to lose and everything to gain taking on the top seed of the Warsaw Challenger in her first match on clay in two years.

Mariam was 0 – 2 in 2022 on the dirt and her record on clay stands at 4 – 14 since 2013.

SRAMKOVA VS BOLKVADZE HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

On any surface, this will be the first meeting between Sramkova and Bolkvadze.

The winner of this match will face either Gina Feistel or Raluca Serban in the second round of the Warsaw Challenger.
