Nice stuff from Zizou Bergs, who brings home the first of the two handicaps, while the second one voids. A combination of service order, a bit of a choke near the end of the first set from the Belgian (he led by a double break and gave one back) and a blown match point on return in the second set means the higher-odds handicap doesn’t cash. No harm, no foul though, as it didn’t lose and we found profit in the match overall.

It’s been a rough few weeks for Griekspoor, who lost three matches on the trot (all as the favourite), before retiring injured after the first set against Jaume Munar in Madrid.
He then withdrew from Rome and is playing his first match since in Geneva. How healthy he is, or how much motivation he has to go deep here with the French Open next week – jeopardising that pay cheque for a win in Geneva is something almost no player would risk – only he knows. That said, we can assume that the Dutchman isn’t quite at 100%, which should impact the price point in the betting markets.
As for Travaglia, he’s well-positioned to take advantage.
Equipped with a big serve, strong forehand and the ability to hit a heavy ball, the 400 metres of altitude should make his game that much more imposing.
Further, with it being the week before a grand slam, motivation is always key in evaluating these kinds of matchups, and Travaglia has it in abundance.
The 31-year-old is ranked outside the world’s top-275 entering this week and the chance to pick up points at the ATP Tour level could help him accelerate his progression back up towards the top 200.

There are far too many question marks surrounding Griekspoor’s form and health for me to have him as such a large favourite.
In normal circumstances, I think this price would be reasonable, but Travaglia has a lot to play for and has a game well-suited to the elevated conditions that this match will be played in.
