Updated on June 14th, 2024. Odds may now differ.
Yet another matchup between two strong servers that can find quick points on faster courts where the total has been set at 22.5 – often the total we see on medium-paced courts for a similar matchup.
I see this number as at least a game too low and will look to take advantage. Our Humbert vs Brouwer prediction is for Brouwer to keep things close.

Ugo Humbert Recent Form
Humbert is another player happy to see the grass season back. Despite a few random runs on clay in the last few years, his ultra-flat hitting style and low net clearance do not do as well on courts that lend themselves to longer rallies.
That was evident when he lost five of his last six on the dirt, culminating in an early exit at Roland Garros against Lorenzo Sonego.
Grass is the opposite though. His serve nets him nice, easy points and he makes guys look slow with the way he hits the ball and it just skids off the court, not allowing his opponents on the run to catch up and get a return back in play.
He is still shaky on the return though, and against another big server that can find cheap points, this is yet another battle where the favorite is a deserved one, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to win by a margin.
Gijs Brouwer Recent Form
It always seems like Brouwer saves up his best tennis for one week a year at a 250 tournament. In previous years it’s been Houston, while this season he’s making the most of the spot he earned in the main draw by qualifying on home soil.
Brouwer is one of many players languishing down on the Challenger Tour ranked in the 200 range that is simply too talented to be ranked that low. The consistent bouts of error-prone tennis depress his ranking relative to his talent level, but every so often he can string together a few clean matches and compete with main tour regulars.
He dispatched Adrian Mannarino in fairly easy fashion and beat one of the better young guns out there in Jakub Mensik in the first round with victories against Cristian Garin and Nicolas Moreno de Alboran in qualifying.
Do I think he beats the Frenchman? Probably not. He has the serve and weapons to stick with the serve-centric Humbert though, so he should be able to send this one over the games total.
Ugo Humbert vs Gijs Brouwer H2H – Stat of the Match
The only prior meeting between Humbert and Brouwer came back in 2022 at a Challenger tournament indoors in France. That one ended 6-1, 7-6 to Humbert, exemplifying the best and worst of the Dutchman’s game.
The first set he can’t find the court and ends up dominated, the second set he sends to a tiebreak when he found the range.
With points even shorter on grass, he should be able to replicate the latter a little more easily.
