Miracle win from Nuno Borges in Bastad on Thursday, so let’s see if we can find some winners to end the week. Our second preview of the day comes from the ATP 250 Infosys Hall of Fame Open. Let’s look at Aleksandar Vukic vs Chris Eubanks.

Eubanks’ win probability is only 38%, while Vukic is favoured to win at 1.54 odds. The handicap is two games and the total games line is 23.

Our Vukic vs Eubanks prediction is for Vukic to cover the handicap.

Aleksandar Vukic vs Chris Eubanks Prediction

  • Predictions: Vukic -2 Games & Vukic -2.5 Games
  • Best Odds: 1.85 & 2.00
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 2/10 & 2/10

Odds updated at 2:00 am UK Time on July 19th, 2024.

This price has shortened a little bit since the opening price, but I have zero faith in the American at the moment and have him as a much larger underdog. Even his serve – one that can be almost untouchable on grass – hasn’t been as consistently dominant and that’s a big problem for him.

Vukic may not be a world beater, but he’s right at home on quick surfaces and his serve should cruise against a less-than-stellar returner. His backhand should also be a little more capable on the grass, where the compact, flat nature allows him to start points and keep the ball low through the courts to take time away from opponents.

Aleksandar Vukic Recent Form

Other than a deep run at the Challenger 175 in Phoenix back in March, Vukic had been horrible in 2024. Even the Australian summer, where one would think he’d do well on quicker courts, didn’t go to plan.

The grass season has provided much needed relief for the now world-No. 65. He made the quarters in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and then made the most of his lucky loser status in Eastbourne, reaching the final four and only losing to Taylor Fritz in a pair of tiebreaks.

Though his last two opponents didn’t have the serve or experience on grass of Eubanks, Vukic did have to take on a strong collegiate player who has been on a tear of late and dispatched him without much trouble. He’s won all four sets he’s played to this point and has broken serve at a decent clip along the way.

Chris Eubanks Recent Form

To say it has been a rough 2024 on the court for Eubanks would be an understatement. After surging into the top-30 for the first time last year, the big man has tumbled back outside of the top-100.

As inspiring as many of his runs were last year, the question of sustainability with regards to his game were always there. His serve is huge, but he doesn’t move well and though he can hit through his forehand when he’s controlling points, it’s hard for him to get to neutral footing in rallies on return.

As for his backhand? While the one hander can be flashy here and there, it’s a major liability on the main tour.

Alone with the quarterfinal run in Halle, this has easily been his best week of the season. Yet he needed a bye and win against a struggling young American who simply couldn’t take his chances to get to this point.

Vukic is a much more established player with bigger weapons and should prove even tougher to deal with for Eubanks on return.

Aleksandar Vukic vs Chris Eubanks H2H – Stat of the Match

Though the handicap isn’t really based on the prior matchups between these two, this matchup has favoured the Australian.

Vukic is 5-2 overall against Eubanks, with the two squaring off five times last season alone – meetings that saw Vukic go 4-1. They were all on hard courts, but most on quick courts, which both men prefer.
