England, Premier League, Saturday , February 15th, 15:00 (UK)
Aston Villa looked strong in the 2-1 win over Tottenham, with new stars Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio impressing off the bench. Despite this, there were some defensive worries. Due to an injury crisis, Boubacar Kamara lined up at centre back alongside Ezri Konsa. However, Konsa limped off with an injury after just 27 minutes, meaning Lamare Bogarde had to fill in for over an hour.
Konsa now joins Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres on the injury list, meaning new signing Axel Disasi, who has struggled since coming to England, is the only fit centre back. As ever, Villa were exciting and energetic going forward, creating a 2.06 xG. However, defensively they did look shaky at times, with Heung-Min Son spurning a golden chance after 24 minutes and Mathys Tel sneaking in at the back post unmarked to score a consolation goal in added time.
In the league, Unai Emery’s side have seen BTTS land in 9/12 home games, as well as all three home cup games against Premier League opposition (1-2 vs Crystal Palace, 2-1 vs West Ham, 2-1 vs Tottenham).
Ipswich are the visitors to Villa Park on Saturday. The Tractor Boys would’ve been deflated after their 1-2 loss to Southampton saw them cut three points adrift in the relegation zone, but the 1-4 win at Coventry will inspire some confidence. While there are still 14 games left in the season, Kieran McKenna will be desperate for some wins, with Leicester, Ipswich and Wolves all fighting for one survival spot.
Only The Foxes, Wolves and Southampton have a worse defensive record than Ipswich, while only The Saints have scored fewer goals. However, the signing of Julio Enciso on loan from Brighton adds some much needed creativity and impetus to their attack. The Paraguayan is a diminutive attacking midfielder, who is not afraid to shoot – recording six shots in his home debut vs Southampton.
Despite Ipswich’s woes in attack, Liam Delap has registered nine goals this year. BTTS has also landed in 8/11 away games for the Tractor Boys. Aston Villa’s defensive injuries will encourage McKenna greatly, who will instruct his side to attack the hosts when possible. BTTS also landed in the earlier meeting between the sides and looks a good price to land again on Saturday.
Aston Villa vs Ipswich Prediction odds via bet365 as at 12:00 February 11th, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Aston Villa’s injury issues have been well documented. With Ezri Konsa limping off against Tottenham, Axel Disasi remains the only fit centre back, meaning Boubacar Kamara is likely to start at centre back again. He joins Matty Cash, Tyrone Mings, Pau Torres and Ross Barkley on the injury list. With a huge midweek clash at home to Liverpool, Unai Emery could be tempted to rotate – something that will encourage Ipswich.
The Tractor Boys rotated in their 1-4 win at Coventry but looked comfortable throughout. New signing Alex Palmer made his debut in goal and impressed. Kieran McKenna has a dilemma on his hands, but Palmer may just get the nod over an underperforming Arijanet Muric In terms of injuries, Chiedozie Ogbene, Christian Walton, Conor Chaplin, Sammie Szmodics and Wes Burns are set to miss the game.
Aston Villa possible starting lineup:

Ipswich possible starting lineup:
