Premier League Fixtures This Week

The tossup in Matchweek 7 that saw both Manchester City and Liverpool lose for the first time this season will have some heavy implications on the continuation of the season. The London rivals, Tottenham and Arsenal made the most of those losses and have inched closer to the defending champion at the top. Our expert tipsters prepared the best Premier League betting guide so you can improve your predictions.

The Gunners now have a chance to overtake City at the very top of the Premier League. The game between Arsenal and Man City is going to be the match of the first part of the season. Played at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta has a legitimate chance to take a stab at his mentor and friend, Pep Guardiola, by finally defeating them.

Premier League Tottenham Spurs Richarlison

Another game that is sure to have heavy implications for the top is the one between West Ham and Newcastle. The two are separated by only a single point, but it is the Magpies who came to this game with momentum, riding a streak of three wins in a row.

Elsewhere, Liverpool will try to another lethal blow to Brighton. De Zerbi’s team suffered a heavy loss against Aston Villa last week (6:1) and will now be looking to bounce back. There is room for improvement, as they will be facing a Liverpool team which is still caught up in all the controversies surrounding their Tottenham loss last week (2:1). All in all, it will be hard to determine the exact Premier League predictions for this one.

Finally, we also have an interesting encounter happening at Old Trafford. Man Utd will welcome Brentford after losing to Crystal Palace last week (1:0). ten Hag’s team is sinking slowly, with losses racking up one after the other. A win is starting to seem like a must for them.

Premier League Transfers

For the start of the newest Premier League season, we already have a record-breaking transfer. As reports state, Declan Rice will move from East London to the North and dawn the Arsenal shirt for a transfer fee of £105 million. But Mikel Arteta didn’t stop there as he also strengthened his squad with Jurriën Timber and Kai Havertz.

Liverpool have finally decided to revamp their midfield, something that has plagued them in the previous season, and added Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton) and Dominik Szoboslai (RB Leipzig).

The two Manchester clubs haven’t seen so much action on the transfer market. They used the situation in Chelsea to steal away the Blues’ players. Mateo Kovacic will switch the Chelsea blue jersey for Man City’s sky blue, while Mason Mount will be playing in the Red Devils’ jersey and dawning the iconic number seven.

Elsewhere, Newcastle have improved their midfield with the signing of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan, while Tottenham have swayed James Maddison to come over from the relegated Leicester City.

After breaking transfer record fees in the last window, Chelsea have opted to sell most of their players and have only added Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig) and Nicolas Jackson (Villarreal) as notable additions. On the other hand, they sold or loaned out 11 players in an attempt to recoup some funds.

Premier League Favourites and Betting Odds

The newest Premier League season is going to be contested by some familiar foes – Arsenal and Manchester City. It is going to be Pep Guardiola’s year all over again. Guardiola has been able to get the better of his rival three years in a row. Arsenal and City are also playing in the Champions League which can affect their EPL performance.

It will be interesting to see how the league starts because everything could be determined in the first half of the season unlike the last one where Arsenal had everything in their hands. Manchester will be unstoppable if they keep playing like the last season and other top teams in the league are still struggling to find their top 11 players.

Almost all Premier League clubs have made massive improvements in their squads. They are spending a lot of money on transfers but they are not bringing great results so far. This can be said for the Chelsea and Manchester United squad that are having management issues. Check out our experts’ Premier League winner predictions on expert insights.

Premier League Stats

When it comes to the number of goals, Bundesliga is best for the fans because a lot of them are being scored and then comes the Premier League. La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 have a bit worse stats but all top leagues are very close. They are scoring 3 or more goals in more than 50% of the matches.

They stand at 52% for Both Teams to Score betting tip which is quite similar to other leagues and teams. With 2.85 goals per match and a big home advantage that clubs have, they are still the best league in the world. What is interesting is that most goals are scored in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Premier League Competition Format

The new Premier League 2023/2024 season will count 20 teams as before. No changes in the format have been established, meaning that the same system for determining the champion will be imposed.

At the end of the season, the last three teams depart the Premier League and will go down to the EFL Championship. As far as the upper part of the table goes, the top four teams will earn spots in the Champions League. The fifth place on the table is reserved for the Europe League.

English teams will have two more teams in European competitions the next season, but will not be able to establish them through the Premier League. Namely, the FA Cup winner will also qualify for the Europa League, while the EFL Cup winner will earn a spot in the Conference League.

Manchester City goes into the 2022/23 season as reigning and defending champions. Pep Guardiola’s team has managed to win the Premier League title twice in a row and four in total in the last five years.
