Everton vs Manchester City Prediction - Premier League
Matthew O’Regan has his Everton vs Manchester City prediction preview as the sides meet at Goodison Park. The hosts have maintained their ever-present status in the Premier League after a fine run of form under returning manager David Moyes, while Manchester City face a battle to finish in the Champions League places. The Toffees held the Citizens to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad on Boxing Day and would settle for a similar result on Saturday.
Everton vs Manchester City Prediction: Goals On The Agenda At Goodison
England, Premier League, Saturday, April 19th , 15:00 (UK)
Everton were embroiled in a relegation battle before Sean Dyche was dismissed as manager. Popular ex-manager David Moyes was appointed as his replacement and has guided his side up to 13th and seventeen points clear of relegation. The Toffees come into this off the back of an impressive 0-1 win at Champions League chasing Nottingham Forest, meaning the 1-0 defeat at Anfield was their only Premier League defeat in their last 12.
This run has seen Everton get results at Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Brighton, as well as at home to Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham. Prior to the Scot’s arrival, Everton had scored just 15 league goals but have now scored 19 in his tenure. In his 13 Premier League games, The Toffees have only blanked in the 1-0 loss at Liverpool and the opening 0-1 loss to Aston Villa. They’ve also only kept three clean sheets in this period.
Reigning four time Premier League champions Manchester City have struggled this season, with Pep Guardiola’s technical side struggling against those more physical and quick. Despite going 0-2 down at home to Crystal Palace after just 21 minutes, City ran out comfortable 5-2 winners to maintain their five game unbeaten streak.
Defensively, they have been poor, conceding 42 goals and keeping just nine league clean sheets thus far. The injury to Erling Haaland is a blow, but Omar Marmous has slotted in seamlessly. The Egyptian has scored six goals in nine league starts and makes the Citizen’s attack more fluid.
Moyes has been in charge of seven home games since his return, with BTTS landing in five of these. In 32 Premier League games for Man City, 19 have seen both teams scoring – including the reverse fixture.
