Leicester vs Liverpool Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview

We have a Leicester vs Liverpool preview on Sunday afternoon in a clash where the visitors are expected to win. The hosts’ relegation to the Championship could be confirmed this weekend. Arne Slot and his side know that the hard work is nearly done. The Premier League trophy isn’t in their hands yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

The reverse fixture ended 3-1 in Liverpool’s favour despite Jordan Ayew giving the Foxes an early lead. Each of the previous six encounters across all competitions has seen Liverpool win. You’d expect that this encounter is the easiest to predict across the Premier League this weekend.

Leicester vs Liverpool Prediction: Mo’s A Record Breaking Machine

England, Premier League, Sunday, April 20th, 16:30 (UK)

Leicester City’s Premier League campaign has been turgid. The Foxes have won twice in their last 24 and lost eight on the bounce without scoring before their shock 2-2 draw at Brighton last weekend. Ruud van Nistelrooy hasn’t impressed since arriving. The last few months have turned sour for all involved at the club. It’s back to Championship football for the home side.

Arne Slot is a manager who has ticked all the boxes in just a short amount of time. His Liverpool side have one hand on the Premier League trophy. The Reds were knocked out of Europe and were beaten at Wembley in the same week, which was disappointing. Virgil Van Dijk’s late winner at Anfield on Sunday afternoon was the perfect boost heading into the home stretch. Liverpool will arrive here as almighty favourites, as we would expect.

Finding an angle supporting the away side has to be the way to approach this clash from a betting perspective. There’s a significant gulf in class between the two sides. I expect that to show at the King Power. Liverpool are available to back at -1.75 on the Asian Handicap. It feels a little high, given Slot’s men have won by three or more just three times away from home this term. Then again, Leicester are dire.

What a season Mo Salah is having. The Egyptian has bagged 27 goals and assisted 18 in 32 outings in the Premier League. Mo has scored more goals than Southampton (23) and the same as Leicester. It’s difficult to rule the Liverpool man out. He’s averaging 0.86 goals per 90. Liverpool is priced at 1.83 to score three goals, whereas Salah’s price to find the back of the net is larger. Luis Diaz is the only other player with a double-figure goal tally.

The home side has the worst record in the Premier League, with a single clean sheet to their name. The players know their season is over. Are they going to put up a fight against the best side in the division? We know what Liverpool are capable of, and they could quite comfortably rack up the score with the attacking talent at their disposal. RVN’s side has conceded 33 times in 16 matches here this season. Their previous six here have finished 0-16 on aggregate.

Salah’s price in the AGS market appeals. The forward has signed a new deal with the club after uncertainty about his future. He’ll be eager to get himself on the scoresheet on Sunday and will fancy his chances of breaking his 17/18 goal tally of 32. Penalty duties will fall on the shoulders of our man. Liverpool earned the most with nine, whilst Leicester conceded four. An away win is likely, and I’m confident Salah can grab himself a goal.

Leicester vs Liverpool Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups

The home side has several absentees. Harry Winks hasn’t featured since March and is a doubt heading here. Abdul Fatawu has been absent due to injury since early November and will not play until next season. Odsonne Edouard and Wout Faes are doubtful. The Frenchman has played just 142 minutes of Premier League football this season. The mood in the Leicester camp will be low as they’ve struggled massively.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez will not play a part on Sunday. The defenders are suffering from ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively. Darwin Nunez is doubtful. The Uruguayan has started just eight times this season, scoring five times. His Liverpool career could end after failing to make a real impact.

Leicester possible starting lineup:
Hermansen; Justin, Okoli, Coady, Thomas, Ndidi, Soumare, McAteer, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Bradley, VVD, Konate, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Salah; Jota
