I have pored over the stats to bring you my AC Milan vs Chelsea bet builder tips. Can Graham Potter’s side make it a quickfire double over the Italian giants? Or will Stefano Pioli gain instant revenge at the San Siro?

Last week Chelsea finally recorded their first win of this season’s Champions League at the third time of asking. A 3-0 defeat of AC Milan at Stamford Bridge drew the Londoners level on points with their Italian group rivals. As a result of group leaders Salzburg’s win over Zagreb in Austria, only two points separate the four sides.
Stefano Pioli’s men bounced back from that disappointing result with a 2-0 victory over Juventus on Saturday. A fifth win in six competitive games in front of their own fans.
Graham Potter extended his unbeaten start to life at Chelsea at the weekend. Cruising past Wolves 3-0 despite making seven changes from the side that registered that UCL victory.
The former Brighton boss has made a positive impact since making the switch from the South Coast to replace Thomas Tuchal. He will be looking to further enhance his reputation against the Italian champions who have a wretched recent record against English Premier League opposition.
With a hefty injury list to contend with, Milan, unlike their visitors, have not had the luxury of squad rotation. It is no surprise to see the home side priced up as underdogs here.
Despite their strong record at their San Siro home this season, Milan know they have to improve on their recent showings against English opposition. The seven-times champions of this competition were poor in defeat in the reverse fixture last week. It was a fourth successive defeat to EPL opponents. Stretching that back further and the Italian side have won just once in their last 16 attempts against Premier League opposition.
More worryingly for the Rossoneri, they have lost six of their last seven meetings hosting English sides. Given the nature of the win last week. As well as the feel-good factor since Potter’s arrival, taking Chelsea to avoid defeat here looks a solid start to the builder. Referring back to that impressive San Siro record this season. Although winning five of those six fixtures, the weekend shutout against Juventus was only their second.
Goals are firmly on the menu when Pioli’s side take to the San Siro field. A total of 22 goals have flown in across those six fixtures in all competitions. An average of 3.67 per game. Chelsea will not only take confidence from the manner of their victory last week. But also the recent 2-1 success of Napoli at this venue. Four of the six Milan home games have seen three or more goals. Only the opening game of Potter’s reign at the Blues failed to cross that same line. Adding over two goals here gives us a nice price boost as the second leg.
The final leg features a player that had a direct involvement in two of the three goals last week. Reece James both scored and assisted in an impressive showing on the right. Graham Potter seems to have moved James permanently back to wing-back. A role that utilises his strengths far more than his previous role on the right side of a back three.
The 22-year-old has fired three shots in three starts under the new boss. In all, the England World Cup hopeful has taken 11 attempts at goal in his last nine starts. He has only failed to get at least one shot off twice and has had at least one in all three UCL fixtures so far.
