Bundesliga Best Bets: Saturday May 7th

With just two games left in the German Bundesliga this campaign nothing is confirmed for some sides. I’ve chosen my three favourite selections across Germany’s top flight on Saturday afternoon for bettingexpert News.

- Freiburg v Union Berlin: BTTS / Over 2.50 Goals
- Furth v Dortmund: Furth 1+ Goal / Dortmund 1+ Second Half Goal
Bundesliga Treble Odds: 7.19

FC Koln vs Wolfsburg Best Bet
Sat, May 7th, 14:30 (UK Time)
An in-form Koln side host Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon as they look to finish the season in a European position, they are currently sixth whilst Florian Kohfeldt’s side sit in 13th.
The home side have been scoring plenty of goals in recent weeks, 13 in the last four which has seen them score three or more on every occasion. 34-year-old Frenchman Anthony Modeste has been right amongst the attacking action, scoring in three consecutive appearances and is priced up at even money to find the back of the net once again.
Modeste has scored 19 times in 30 Bundesliga matches which is his best return in five years, he’s 4th in the league’s top scorer standings only behind Lewandowski, Schick and Haaland. With the hosts expected to have plenty of success in finding the back of the net at the RheinEnergieStadion backing the man who will lead the line looks a good bet to me.
Wolfsburg have had a serious drop off this campaign after finishing fourth in the 2020/2021 season. Away from home, they’ve accumulated just 15 points from 16 matches, conceding 33 goals within that time. The clash between these sides back in December ended 3-2 in favour of Koln which saw Modeste bag a brace on the day.
With it being the last home fixture of the season for Koln and Modeste, I’m hoping they put on a show for the fans on Saturday afternoon. The Frenchman is also on penalty duties for his side which will be a huge boost if the referee is forced to point to the spot.
- Selection: Anthony Modeste Anytime Goalscorer
- Best Odds: 2.00 (SkyBet)
- Stakes: 7/10

Freiburg vs Union Berlin Best Bet
Sat, May 7th, 14:30 (UK Time)
Heading to Freiburg with my second selection as they welcome Union Berlin to Europa-Park Stadion. The hosts are fourth with the visitors in seventh however there is just a four-point game between the sides before Saturday’s clash.
There have been 52 goals scored across Freiburg’s 16 home matches this campaign, 31 for and 21 against which sees them sit eighth for their home record. Christian Streich’s side have found the back of the net in 15 separate matches at home in the Bundesliga and have kept just four clean sheets.
The side from the German capital are the league’s most in-form side, in their 16 away league trips they have managed just a single clean sheet whilst scoring against 11 of their opponents on the road. Urs Fischer’s team most recently defeated RB Leipzig on their travels so confidence levels will be high heading into this weekend’s game.
With both sides capable of finding the back of the net, a goals angle certainly seems the ideal way to get involved here. BTTS is available at 1.73 which is reasonable enough however neither team will want to settle for a draw so adding over 2.50 match goals enhances the price of the bet into a 2.10 selection.
- Selection: BTTS / Over 2.50 Goals
- Best Odds: 2.10 (Bet 365)
- Stakes: 8/10

Greuther Furth vs Borussia Dortmund Best Bet
Sat, May 7th, 14:30 (UK Time)
It’s fair to say that Greuther Furth have struggled massively in the top flight this season, they have won just three times all campaign and their last home fixture sees them host Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund away from home haven’t seen quite as many goals in comparison to their home matches despite there being 53 goals in total from their 16 away trips. In that time Marco Rose’s side have found the back of the net in all bar one away matches, whilst keeping just three clean sheets.
When the ‘Black and Yellows’ are in action you’d always associate them with goals and that is what I’m going with for my selection. 13 times from 16 has seen Borussia Dortmund find the back of the net after the break away from home.
Despite being rock bottom Furth have still managed to register 14 goals in 16 home matches, scoring in ten separate occasions. With it being the last game at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer Stadium in the top flight they’ll be looking to give their home fans something to cheer about and I feel they can hit the back of the net against a defensively vulnerable Dortmund side.
BTTS is available at just 1.61 however backing the visitors to score after the break as they’ve done so often this season, brings the price up into an even-money play at 2.00 odds. Haaland and co have scored in the second half in all of their last five league matches and have kept just a single clean sheet in that time.
- Selection: Furth 1+ Goal / Dortmund 1+ Second Half Goal
- Best Odds: 2.00 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 8/10

WHAT IS A BUNDESLIGA ACCA?
A Bundesliga acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A Bundesliga acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Bundesliga accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the Bundesliga acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
