Bundesliga Betting Odds Intro:

Bayern Munich clinched the Bundesliga title once again last season, but it was far from routine, with the title race coming down to the final minutes of the season. Dortmund drew 2-2 on the final day, and an 89th-minute goal from Musiala secured Bayern’s 11th consecutive title.

Munich missed Robert Lewandowski last season, and they remain in the hunt for Harry Kane with this season fast approaching. The chasing pack will be hoping that Bayern doesn’t get their man as they gear up for another season. The race for the Champions League places also promises to be intriguing once again.

Bundesliga Winner Odds: Bayern To Make It 12 In A Row

Bayern Munich are clear favourites to win the title once more, and again, too short to take on. They overcame hardships last season in what turned out to be one of the most fiercely competitive Bundesliga seasons in recent years. Julian Nagelsmann was dismissed in the latter phases of the campaign, and the upheaval looked to have proved costly at one stage.

Thomas Tuchel has proven his credentials as one of Europe’s top managers, and Bayern acted decisively to bring him in the middle of last season. The former Chelsea manager was left frustrated as his side were beaten in the Deutsche Pokal and the Champions League. Their stranglehold on the league title almost slipped, but there is a feeling that Bayern will be much improved this season.

Bayern have strengthened in the transfer window and have looked deadly going forward. They beat Liverpool 4-3 and maintained 61% possession in pre-season. Tuchel’s side is a scary prospect should they get the Harry Kane deal over the line, but as you’d expect, their title odds are very short.

Borussia Dortmund may have lost Jude Bellingham this summer, but they are well-positioned to challenge Bayern once again this season. Sebastian Haller will be available for his club from the season opener, having recovered from testicular cancer. Edin Terzic has plenty of options, and they should be just fine without Jude, just as they coped with the loss of Erling Haaland. Dortmund are still the team to back for those who aren’t looking to pick the clear favourite. They are best priced at 6.00 with bet365.

However, last season felt like a golden opportunity for Dortmund. Losing the title in such agonising fashion was a bitter pill to swallow. Tuchel has now had time to settle in, and It’s hard to look further than Bayern.

Bundesliga Top Four Odds: Union Berlin’s Odds Appeal Once Again

Bayer Leverkusen enjoyed a miraculous turnaround after Xabi Alonso was appointed manager. They made a woeful start to the last campaign, winning just one of their opening eight league matches. They then went on to finish 6th and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Leverkusen have lost Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa this summer, though the money has been reinvested in an already talented squad. Alonso will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the burnout that occurred at the end of the last campaign as they hunt for a Champions League return.

Union Berlin were spectacular in stages last season. They reached the top of the Bundesliga for the first time in their history in September. Union looked as though they were genuine contenders for the title when Bayern were wilting. They had to settle for fourth place and a Champions League in the end, but the season was a resounding success after they finished 5th the season before.

Urs Fischer has managed to keep hold of the nucleus of his squad, and they have made several additions which give them some much-needed depth. The acquisition of Diogo Leite from Porto will give them greater stability at the heart of the defence. Bet365 has them priced at 4.33 to finish in the top four once again. This is significantly better than the other bookmakers, with the next best price being 3.75.

Freiburg are also a team to look out for. Our long-shot tip for them to finish in the top four last season fell just short, but they proved they had the credentials to compete with Germany’s best.

  • Selection: Bundesliga Top Four Finish: Union Berlin
  • Odds: 4.33
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 4/10

Bundesliga Top Scorer Odds: Haller To continue His Form From Last Season

The race for the golden boot in the Bundesliga looks set to be intriguing. There has been no clear candidate for the crown since Robert Lewandowski departed for Barcelona last summer. Erling Haaland also left Germany last year, and no player was able to score 20 league goals last season.

Should Harry Kane arrive, he will immediately be instilled as the market favourite. Kane has proven his goal scoring prowess in the Premier League for several years, and he would relish the opportunity to lead the line for Bayern. He has maintained remarkable numbers at Tottenham while not getting his rewards in the form of silverware; a link-up with Thomas Tuchel at the German giants is a scary prospect. However, we are only focusing on the players available in the current markets.

Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug were joint top scorers with 16 goals last season. The former recently joined Chelsea in this transfer window. Serge Gnabry was the top scorer for Bayern with 14 goals. Marcus Thuram led the league in terms of xG, so the market appears wide open at this stage of the window.

One player who does represent value is Sebastian Haller. He scored nine goals last season after recovering from his treatment for testicular cancer. The striker averaged 0.7 goals per 90 minutes and proved to be a real asset to Dortmund in their race for the title. Haller scored five goals in his side’s last four league games. He will be hoping to carry that form into this season. Haller also had the second-highest xG tally at Dortmund by just 0.63 despite playing 506 minutes less.

  • Selection: Bundesliga Top Scorer: Haller to be Top Scorer
  • Odds: 6.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 6/10

Bundesliga Longshot Value Odds: Grifo To Remain Key for Freiburg

As previously mentioned, the lack of out-and-out scorers in the Bundesliga currently makes the top goal-scorer market an ideal target for those looking for a long shot. The 16 goals required to land the top scorer gong in the German top flight last season was the fewest across Europe’s major leagues by seven goals.

Vincenzo Grifo scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga last season. The left winger posed a considerable threat and was integral to Freiburg’s stellar campaign. He was a standout performer last season. He overperformed his xG of 11.62, showcasing his ability to be clinical in front of goal. His xG was the 7th highest in the division.

Grifo is a set-piece specialist. He is his side’s designated penalty taker and is a threat from free kicks. Freiburg have lost Kevin Schade to Brentford this summer. So, the onus could be on Grifo even more during open play. He averaged 1.3 dribbles and two shots per game last season.

Grifo is priced at 34.00 to be the league’s top scorer with bet365. They are also paying out on five places at 1/3 of the odds. The lack of standout forwards in the division makes this bet even more appealing.

  • Selection: Bundesliga Top Scorer: Vincenzo Grifo
  • Odds: 34.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 4/10 – 2 E/W

Bundesliga Relegation Odds: Newly-Promoted Sides Set To Struggle

The Bundesliga saw two big teams drop to the second tier last season. Hertha Berlin and Schalke were both relegated, and it promises to be another tantalising battle at the bottom this time around. Stuttgart, who won the league as recently as 2007, narrowly stayed up in the relegation playoff against Hamburg.

Heidenheim are the favourites to go down and are the only side that are odds on. They won the Bundesliga 2 last season, finishing level on points with Darmstadt. According to ‘Transfermarkt’, their squad is valued below €30m, the 2nd lowest in the Bundesliga. They have invested just €2.3m on transfers to this point and have lost a whole host of players on free transfers.

Darmstadt also looks set to struggle. The size of the clubs that went down last season is a testament to the level of quality currently in the Bundesliga, and it’s becoming incredibly difficult for clubs to establish themselves in the division after earning promotion. Bremen managed it last season, but they had much greater financial might than this season’s newcomers.

Torsten Lieberknecht earned plaudits for the way his team played last season, claiming he has taken inspiration from Jurgen Klopp. Darmstadt have been able to bring in Christoph Klarer from Dusseldorf and Fraser Hornby from Stade Reims, but remaining in the Bundesliga still looks like a tall order.

  • Selection: Bundesliga Relegation: Heidenheim To Be Relegated
  • Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 8/10
