The Bundesliga props acca tips article is back after a short break, as is Scott Thornton, and the two combine for three shots bets for this weekend’s matches. It’s been a tumultuous international break in Germany, so the club’s returning to action is most welcome.
All of our matches kick off on Saturday afternoon. Dortmund are aiming to return to winning ways against a wounded Freiburg. Elsewhere, Stuttgart are looking to continue their strong start.

Freiburg suffered disappointment when they narrowly missed out on qualification for the Champions League last season. They’ve made a reasonable start to this campaign, but their 5-0 defeat at the hands of Stuttgart is definitely cause for concern.
Dortmund fell just short of their own objective of winning the title last season. They were pipped to the title by Bayern on the final day of the season. Edin Terzic’s side capitulated in a similar manner in their last Bundesliga match. They stormed to a two-goal lead against Heidenheim before eventually drawing 2-2.
Freiburg’s matches have seen 34.67 shots per game this season, the most in the Bundesliga. There were 40 and 38 shots in their opening two matches. There were 26 shots in their game with Stuttgart despite the match being over as a contest after just 20 minutes.
Dortmund have looked fragile at the back, but they still possess plenty of attacking threat. There has been an average of 30.33 shots across their three matches. There were 32 shots when these sides met at this ground last season.

Koln have struggled this season. They have one point after three games, and defeat at home to Hoffenheim would send alarm bells ringing. The side also struggled last season. Koln have been on a downward trajectory since qualifying for the Europa Conference League in the 2021/22 season.
Hoffenheim have picked up six points from their opening three matches. They come out on top in goal-laden encounters with Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim. They were only narrowly beaten by Freiburg on the opening day, so there is optimism that the club can do better than their 12th-place finish last season.
Koln’s matches have seen the second-fewest shots in the Bundesliga. The average of 22 shots per Koln match is well below the required mark for this bet to land. Their last ten league matches on home turf have seen 21.9 attempts on average. Their only home match of this season so far saw 22 shots.
Hoffenheim’s opening two matches saw plenty of shots, but there were 23 in their most recent. There were also just 16 shots when Hoffenheim made the trip to Koln last season.

Mainz have picked up just one point so far this season. They finished 9th last season, but they will need to improve quickly to replicate that level of performance in this campaign. They suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Bremen last weekend. They also conceded four when they welcomed Stuttgart to the MEWA Arena last season.
Stuttgart’s matches so far this season have seen plenty of goals. They’ve picked up six points from a possible nine, and there have been at least five goals in all of those matches. They narrowly avoided relegation last campaign but look set for a better season this time around.
Although Mainz have made a poor start, they have conceded very few shots across their three matches. Their opponents are averaging 10.33 shots per game, the third-fewest in the division.
Despite winning 4-1, Stuttgart only managed seven shots in this fixture last season. They’ve played one away game so far this season. The team managed nine shots in that one. Stuttgart were in desperate need of points at the end of last season. Even with this added incentive to attack, their previous ten away league matches have seen them average 12.3 shots per game.
