Borussia Monchengladbach vs RB Leipzig: Monchengladbach’s matches see plenty of attempts
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, September 23rd, 14:30 (UK)
Borussia Monchengladbach are still searching for their first win of the season after an abysmal start. They trailed Darmstadt by three goals last weekend but were able to come back and salvage a draw against the relegation candidates. They cannot afford to give Leipzig a head start in this one.
Since losing on the opening day of the season, RB Leipzig have been in fine form. They’ve won their three league matches since and began their Champions League campaign with an away victory. After some very convincing displays, they are now just a point behind the Bundesliga leaders.
Monchengladbach matches are averaging the most hots in the Bundesliga so far, thanks to their defensive frailties. They have conceded 21 shots per game, helping their opponents to find the net 12 times in four matches. There have been at least 30 shots in all of their matches, with an average of 33.75 per match.
Leipzig matches are averaging just 24 shots per game, but they have the quality to create plenty of chances here. There were 33 shots when they visited this ground last season.

Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg: Dortmund’s frailty to add to the spectacle
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, September 23rd, 14:30 (UK)
Dortmund are unbeaten domestically this season, but disappointing draws against Darmstadt and Bochum mean they are trailing at this early stage. They narrowly missed out on the title last campaign and will be hoping to battle their way into contention once again. Edin Terzic’s side were beaten 2-0 by PSG midweek but will be confident of a return to winning ways, having taken three points off Wolfsburg in their last five home matches against them.
Wolfsburg are a point ahead of Dortmund, having picked up three wins in their opening four matches. However, they were fortunate to beat Union Berlin last weekend, and I expect them to be on the backfoot here.
There were 30 shots in this fixture last season and a whopping 38 in the reverse. It’s not quite panic stations for Dortmund, but they need a win to ensure they don’t fall too far behind. Their matches this season are averaging 30.25 shots per game, with Terzic’s men contributing with 15.25 of those.
Wolfsburg’s matches are seeing 26 per game, but I think we should see an inflated shot count here. Dortmund will pile on the pressure in this one, and Wolfsburg conceded the 4th most shots on the road in the Bundesliga last season.
- Selection: Over 27.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)

Bayer Leverkusen vs Heidenheim: Leverkusen can be menacing
Germany, Bundesliga, Sunday, September 24th, 14:30 (UK)
Heidenheim have mainly been impressive so far. They recorded their first win of the season last weekend against Werder Bremen but have displayed attacking intent in all four of their Bundesliga matches so far. They showcased their strength of character when they came from behind to draw with Borussia Dortmund in match day three. They will need to be at their best once again to get anything from the trip to Leverkusen.
Xabi Alonso’s side have been hugely impressive in the early matches, and they represent a real threat to Bayern’s stranglehold over the Bundesliga. In their last league match, they had to settle for a 2-2 draw at the Allianz, but they remain joint top of the division.
Heidenheim’s matches have seen the third most shots in the league, with an average of 32.5 per game. There have been 32 and 33 shots in their away matches, and their direct approach has paid dividends in terms of creativity.
Leverkusen are the overwhelming favourites and will be expecting to come away with all three points. They had 25 shots in their last home game in the league and can rack up plenty here.
- Selection: Over 29.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED)
- Best Odds: 1.80
