Odds via bet365 as at 15:25, December 18th 2023. Odds may now differ.
Germany, Bundesliga, Tuesday, December 19th, 17:30 (UK)
Hoffenheim’s 3-1 defeat at Leipzig at the weekend saw them slip to 7th in the Bundesliga. They made a brilliant start to the campaign, but performances have worsened, and they have now managed just one win in their last six.
Darmstadt are bottom of the league. But they are just one point from safety. They have shown plenty of spirit in several of the defeats, but this hasn’t been rewarded with points. They are now enduring a run of eight matches without a win.
Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side are conceding 15.67 shots per game on average. This decreases to 13.86 at home, but that is still above the required mark for this bet to land. They conceded 22 shots against Bochum in their last match at the PreZero Arena.
This bet has won in four of Darmstadt’s last five matches. They are averaging 12.6 shots per game this season and 10.29 in away matches. They are prime relegation candidates, but this is the perfect opportunity for them to take the game to a side that is also low on confidence.

Union Berlin have had a diabolical start to the season. Few would have predicted they’d struggle this much, but they have managed to get their noses above the relegation zone in recent weeks. The team have already crashed out of the Champions League and were unable to salvage a place in the Europa League.
Koln have has struggles of their own, and they are level on points with Union Berlin ahead of this one. Both also have the same goal difference, but Koln are below Union and in the relegation playoff place due to an inferior amount of goals.
Union’s matches this season haven’t seen a great deal of shots overall, but those numbers have increased significantly in recent weeks. Their defeat at Bochum last weekend saw 29 shots. The two games before that were at home, and there were 27 and 26 attempts. Their league matches overall are averaging 24.57.
Koln’s Bundesliga matches have seen 28.43 shots per game. Their loss away to Freiburg at the weekend saw 29 shots so expect a few here. This is a crucial fixture and a huge opportunity for both sides.
Germany, Bundesliga, Wednesday, December 20th, 19:30 (UK)
Stuttgart suffered defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich last weekend and they will be hoping to return to winning ways here. They have won six of their eight home matches in the Bundesliga, and they remain 5 points clear of the chasing pack in the race for the Champions League.
Augsburg have picked up just one win in their seven away matches. That was an enthralling 5-2 victory over newly-promoted Heidenheim. They have one win in their last six matches overall so the signs are ominous ahead of this clash.
Stuttgart are Germany’s surprise package this season, and they have been particularly menacing on home turf. They are averaging the 3rd most shots per game in the top flight (only Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen have had more) with 16.57. This climbs to a whopping 19 in home matches.
The visitors are going to have to hold firm and absorb a lot of pressure here. Their last two visits to this ground have seen them concede 29 and 24 shots, so while the line may be high, the bet is still appealing.
