The Bundesliga is back after its winter break and so is Scott Thornton with the Bundesliga Props acca. All of our action takes place on Saturday.
First up it’s Koln vs Heidenheim as the home side look to emerge from the drop zone. At the same time, Leipzig hosts Eintracht Frankfurt. Lastly, Borussia Dortmund head to Darmstadt.

Koln have picked up just two wins in the league so far. The poor first half of the season has left them 17th in the table, and they will likely be relegated if things don’t improve. They have stuck with Steffen Baumgart throughout this challenging period, but the board may be forced to act sooner rather than later.
By contrast, Heideheim will be delighted with their campaign so far. The newly-promoted side are in the top half of the league and are 10 points above the relegation playoff. They won their three league matches before the break, which included their first away win of the season against Mainz.
Koln’s home matches this season have seen an average of 2886 shots per game. Baumgart’s side are having 15 shots on average, and this will need to pile on the pressure in this one. They face a Heidenheim side that are conceding plenty of shots on the road, so this line looks a little low.
Heidenheim are conceding 18.13 shots per away match. They are averaging just 8.38 themselves, but that number should go up when they take on a relegation-threatened Koln.

RB Leipzig currently holds the last Champions League spot and has a six-point cushion between themselves and Borussia Dortmund. They are nine points behind the league leaders, but a good run of form could see them move into title contention. RB Leipzig enjoyed a remarkable rise up the divisions after Red Bull took over but they are yet to win the German top flight.
Frankfurt have only won consecutive league matches once this season, but they have a chance to do that here. They beat Borussia Monchengladbach before the winter break and have moved up to 6th in the table.
Marco Rose’s side have been menacing going forward this season, particularly on home turf, but I’m backing them to have 17 shots or fewer when they face Frankfurt. This bet has landed in the last five head-to-heads, and Leipzg are averaging just 11 shots per game.
The visitors are conceding the 6th fewest shots in the Bundesliga. Their opponents are averaging 11.9 shots per game in their last ten matches. They have also conceded 14 shots or fewer in their last five away league matches.

Darmstadt are rock bottom of the Bundesliga as the league returns after its winter break. They have amassed a total of 10 points after 16 matches but are just three points from safety. Their home matches have seen plenty of action, but they have only managed to secure one win in front of their own fans in this campaign.
Dortmund are enduring a tough season of their own. They narrowly missed out on the title last season but are in danger of finishing outside of the top four this time around. They have already been eliminated from the DFB Pokal. AEdin Terzic’s future will no doubt be questioned if the poor form continues.
The home side may be the back markers in the Bundesliga, but they have still had a decent number of attempts at home. They are averaging 14.63 shots per game at the Stadion am Bollenfalltor, and they are taking on a side that is conceding over 18 shots per away game.
Terzic’s side’s matches have seen the most shots in the Bundesliga this season, with an average of 30.44. This drops slightly to 30.14 across their seven league matches on the road, but it is still well above the required mark for this bet to win.
