Flamengo vs Botafogo Best Bet

Flamengo have been one of the top teams in Brazil and on the continent in recent years and they have made a fairly timid start to their league campaign, collecting just five points from their opening four league matches and they will be looking to improve their start by recording a victory here. Botafogo also have five points from their opening games and neither of these teams has beaten the other by more than one goal in the last five meetings, so I’m expecting them to be evenly matched here.

Flamengo have found the net in six of their eight competitive matches so far this season, and Botafogo have conceded in four of their five matches.  Paulo Sousa’s side have earned many plaudits for the attacking brand of football in recent times, and I’m more than happy to back them to find the net here. They have scored two goals in five of their eight matches and they are yet to fully hit their stride this season.

I’ll also back the home side to have more than four corners. They are averaging six corners per game so far this season and they have hit five or more in the last four meetings with Botafogo.

Fortaleza vs Sao Paulo Best Bet

Another of Brazil’s giants are in action on Sunday, as Sao Paulo face a trip to Fortaleza. The season is still in its infancy but Sao Paulo have made a reasonable start, collecting seven points from their four matches and now they sit two points off top spot.

Fortaleza have made a disappointing start and don’t have a single point after three matches, so they currently sit in last place. Surprisingly, the teams are quite evenly matched in the betting and a look at the recent meetings between the sides tells you why. Sao Paulo have failed to win any of their last five matches against Fortaleza, but I’m going to back them here because of the generous odds on offer.

RB Bragantino vs Corinthians Best Bet

Corinthians are also in action late on Sunday, and they are one of the teams who will have their eyes on the league title this season. The team last won the league in 2017, but they’ve made a strong start here, winning three of their four opening matches.

RB Bragantino have also made a strong to the season and they are just one point behind Sunday’s opponents. Bragantino were taken over by Red Bull in 2020 and are now threatening to become a real force in the years to come.
