Backing the underdogs in London and Belgium, whilst Napoli continues to give punters no reason whatsoever why they should be overlooked as Rangers come to town. It’s another Champions League best bets here at bettingexpert, and hopefully another three winners.

Champions League, Wednesday, October 26th, 20:00 (UK)
It wouldn’t be fair to say that Tottenham are in a rut, but losses to Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United on Sunday have made their October somewhat miserable. Spurs’ ten-match winning streak at home in all competitions fell to The Toon on the weekend, gifted by two Hugo Lloris errors.
There’s no doubt that will be at the forefront of home supporters’ minds up until the Champions League anthem on Wednesday. Spurs are in the middle of a 43-day stretch packed with 13 matches – a period where players’ fitness needs to be managed accordingly. Richarlison and Kulusevski will miss the Sporting Lisbon match, two big blows, with Romero and Hjojberg also doubts after both missed the Newcastle match.
Speaking ahead of the game, Conte spoke about the scheduling for his players pre-Sporting Lisbon; “For sure, there are players that need to rest for two days to recover because we have players who, for them, this was seven games in a row, and we don’t have the possibility to make rotation in this moment.”
With those missing and the need to continue to play his tried and tested without rotation, there will undoubtedly be some tired legs in the home dressing room on Wednesday. And that’s before facing an opponent who beat them 2-0 in the reverse Group D fixture.
Following the Spurs victory where two injury-time strikes downed Tottenham on the road, things couldn’t have gone much worse for the Portuguese. Three red cards and six goals conceded tell the tale of Marseille’s back-to-back meetings. The dominance from the Ligue 1 outfit in recent weeks has ensured that only three points separate the top from bottom in Group D, making up a quartet of sides that always looked too close to call on paper.
If fitness issues and absentees take their toll on a Tottenham team that stuttered at home at the weekend, Sporting Lisbon’s Asian handicap may prove to be a tad bigger than it should be. The proposed selection has failed to bank in 5/16 matches in all competitions this season for sides playing the capital club.
In this instance, the +1.25 Asian handicap will be a winner if the game ends in a draw, with half the return if Sporting loses by one goal. If Tottenham runs away with proceedings on Wednesday night and posts a winning margin of two or more goals, the handicap loses.

Napoli continue to take Europe by storm this season, with Jose Mourinho’s Roma the latest top side to be shown the losing side of their rampant hand on Sunday evening. It’s 11 wins in a row in all competitions for Napoli, with the two draws to open the Serie A season now a distant memory. A side unbeaten throughout the entirety of the 2022/23 season across the continent – that’s what awaits Rangers in Naples on Wednesday night.
Until the last gameweek, only Rangers and Copenhagen were yet to score a goal in the Champions League. Scott Arfield’s solitary strike in a 1-7 loss at the hands of Liverpool ensured the Danish outfit is on its own in terms of a blank scoresheet in the competition.
Rangers have registered 2.3xG from their opening four games. You guessed it, Copenhagen’s 1.7xG ranks lower than Rangers’ total out of 32 participants. At the other end of the xG rankings above Manchester City and a million miles away from Rangers is Napoli, with 14.4xG from four games. In true Naples fashion right now, the Italians have overperformed in front of goal, scoring 17 Champions League goals this term, four more than next-best Bayern Munich.
If Rangers are to take comfort in anything, it’s that Napoli have conceded in 9/13 this in 2022/23. Admittedly, the initial selection was Napoli Win to Nil, but with their leaky defence at times, the William Hill punt seems like the safer selection. Regardless, it’s difficult to see Rangers causing Napoli too many problems, considering how they’ve applied themselves in European matches this season.
Rangers only managed one shot on target away at Ajax and two vs Liverpool at Anfield. At home, Rangers recorded two (vs LFC) and three vs (Napoli). If the Glaswegians are to get on the scoresheet in Italy as they did for the first time this campaign against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, Rangers will need to make the most of their limited chances. If Rangers fail to find the net, but Napoli churns ahead and keeps scoring goals at will, the 1.83 punt looks like a goer.

Avoiding defeat versus Porto on matchday five will grant Club Brugge safe passage out of Group B as group winners. It would be an achievement far beyond their means in a group including Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, and FC Porto. The Belgians shouldn’t have enough to progress on paper, in black and white, though the famed knockout stages are now within touching distance.
Despite the 0-4 loss in Portugal, Porto are favourites to clinch three points in Belgium. However, this is a Club Brugge side yet to concede a goal. As a result, the Bruges-based outfit are the only team in the Champions League to avoid the net rustling at the wrong end. If that trend continues on matchday five, Club Brugge will become the first team since Manchester United in 2010/11 to keep a clean sheet in the first five matches of a Champions League campaign.
And here they are, knowing that avoiding defeat will get them one step further. If they successfully navigate Porto for the second time, Ferran Jultgà will likely have a say. The Spanish frontman, who arrived from Barcelona in the summer, has been directly involved in more goals (x4 goal contributions – 2G/2A) than any other Spanish player in the Champions League in 2022/23.
This is precisely the stage Jultgà would have aimed to produce top-level performances after joining Club Brugge permanently in what looks to be a stepping stone move for his career.
Furthermore, the 1.84 shots per90 average in UEFA’s flagship domestic competition proposes the selection should have a chance, especially if Club Brugge can command an equal share of possession as they did in Porto last time out.
