The Champions League 2nd legs are underway and Graham Potter’s Chelsea welcome an in-form Dortmund to Stamford Bridge. Here at bettingexpert Expert Insights, we have constructed the Chelsea vs Dortmund bet builder tips for this clash.

Champions League Round of 16, Tuesday, March 7th, 20:00 (UK)
Chelsea registered their first victory in seven matches across all competitions last weekend. Wesley Fofana’s goal was enough to earn all three points against relegation-threatened Leeds. They’ll have to be on top of their game on Tuesday night as Dortmund have won every game in 2023, now stretching into double figures with 10.
The opening leg at Signal Iduna Park was pretty entertaining despite the low scoreline. Possession was evenly shared but Edin Terzic and his side can count themselves lucky that they earned a clean sheet. Chelsea racked up 21 shots, 10 corners and 2.20xG but failed to put the ball in the back of the net, which has been a recurring theme in their underwhelming campaign so far.
Graham Potter will have taken some confidence from that win on Saturday afternoon, they certainly have the players to turn this tie around, but of course, it won’t be easy. In 2023, Chelsea have played 12 times, and they’ve scored just five goals.
Scoring goals hasn’t been an issue for the German club. They’ve bagged 25 times since this calendar year, with multiple goals arriving in eight from 10. Karim Adeyemi scored the winner in the reverse leg but there are plenty of players that are in form and able to cause Chelsea problems.
Terzic will likely start with a similar side that won in Germany, Marco Reus should keep his place after his goal against Leipzig on Friday night with Adeyemi ruled out with injury. They’ll start with the same backline and midfield trio, who will be key, as they look to keep their side ahead in the tie.
The pressure is on the hosts here, they need to win inside 90 minutes to give themselves a chance. Dortmund are the most in-form side in world football right now and will be confident taking on Graham Potter’s side.
Julian Brandt has been a consistent shooter for the majority of the season, but even more so in recent times. The 26-year-old has had a shot in all of his six Champions League appearances, including two in the opening tie. Each of his last 12 Bundesliga starts has seen him record a goal attempt.
Joao Felix has been an exciting spark since he arrived in the capital. The Portuguese forward has looked sharp and I want to get onside with him in the shot department. Felix has played six times for Chelsea, he’s had 21 shots in that time with two or more arriving in five games from six.
The hosts need to attack, they’ve struggled for goals for a lengthy period of time now. They may rack up a similar amount of attempts that they did in Dortmund, where Joao Felix had four. It’s tricky to decide how this game will go in terms of result, but choosing to go down the shot market with two players hitting good numbers consistently, seems the best bet.
