Cruzeiro vs Corinthians in Serie A in the early hours of Sunday morning is our game in question, but maybe this is one of the South American games to avoid staying up for.
With a low-scoring, action-less game predicted, we may be able to wake up to profit instead with Nathan Joyes’ bet builder tips.
Bet Builder odds: 3.75

Cruzeiro’s season ticket holders haven’t spoiled too many classics this season. You have to go all the way back to May; ten matches ago, the last time there were three goals in a game.
In fact, in their last eight matches, only one solitary goal was scored. Even worse for the supporters, they haven’t found the back of the next in their previous three games. Four goals from 10 home matches have been the downfall of their success. Under three goals has also landed in 11 of Cruzeiro’s 12 home matches, where it has landed in seven of Corinthians’ last ten games. It shouldn’t be a classic, but it can kickstart the bet builder.
One of the main reasons Cruzeiro haven’t scored many at home is because they constantly fail to test the opponent’s goalkeeper. In their latest home match against Botafogo, Cruzeiro dominated the match with 59% possession and eight corners, yet only mustered four shots on target.
Previously, they faced Goias, a far weaker opponent, and although they had fourteen shots, only one found the target. Even in their 1-0 win over Sao Paulo in June, they didn’t hit the target once, relying on an own goal to get them over the line. Corinthians have been disappointing this season, but even the Copa do Brasil semi-finalists won’t leave themselves exposed enough for this bet to not land.
Although Cruzeiro has struggled, they’ve proven to be a tough nut to crack. Although they’ve only scored four at home, they’ve only shipped seven in ten Serie A matches. Holding a solid back line, Cruzeiro likes to press in order to win the ball back in their half, not allowing teams to take long-range shots either.
Corinthians have been disappointing domestically this year. Even when they have managed to produce a result on the road, they still don’t shoot often. This bet has landed in seven of the last eight away matches for Corinthians. The sale of top goalscorer Roger Guedes to Al Rayyan in the last couple of weeks will see their chances even more restricted.
With Cruzeiro unlikely to change their ways and Corinthians losing Roger Guedes, it looks like this match is only going one way. The away side has only scored seven goals on the road, of which Guedes was responsible for almost half.
Corinthians also played mid-week in the Copa do Brasil, missing out on a place in the final. Not only will their confidence be knocked, but plenty of tired legs will be on the field.
This mid-table clash is more of a chess match and certainly not a classic. However, this selection adds another layer to the bet builder.
Despite Cruzeiro and Corinthians struggling to find the target, both enjoy utilising their wide players to create opportunities. With firepower lacking down the middle, both teams prefer to use pacey full-backs and wingers to get behind defences.
With action set to be limited in the middle of the park, expect both teams to use the flanks as much as possible, which will see the corners add up and help bring in the bet builder. Cruzeiro are renowned for winning corners at home, landing 32 themselves across their last three matches at Estadio Raimundo Sampaio.
