Feyenoord vs Marseille Best Bet

While some believe the winner of the Conference League will come from the other tie, you would be wrong to look down on any of these sides. In fact, both teams are former Champions League/European Cup winners and they do have some European pedigree of their own.

Feyenoord and Marseille come into this game with a positive run of form, making it hard to predict an outright winner. The hosts are unbeaten in their last six while Marseille have won 10 out of their last 11 outings across all competitions. Given that their only loss in that time came at the hands of PSG, it’s almost as if they have been flawless.

One thing that looks certain as both sides lock horns though, is the potential for goals and a good amount of them.

Both sides have shown they can score goals and are also among the highest scores in the competition. It is perhaps no surprise that the competition’s top scorer (joint) in Cyriel Dessers has been in decent form for Feyenoord.

While Feyenoord have no problems scoring, keeping a clean sheet has equally been a problem for them as well. The Dutch side have only kept one clean in their last six fixtures across all competitions. Marseille will be eager to punish that weakness as well.

Feyenoord’s last four conference League games have seen both teams to score and over 2.5 goals play out and I’m backing that to happen once again.

Feyenoord have not featured in a European semi-final since they won the UEFA Cup 20 years ago and this should serve as some motivation to come out guns blazing on home turf.

The same could be said for the visitors as Marseille travel in high spirits 1-0 weekend win at Reims. That win moved them to within one point of securing 2nd position in Ligue 1.

With Marseille’s spot in the Champions League for next season all but secured, a first continental cup success since winning the Intertoto Cup in 2005 may be extra incentive to equally put their best foot forward here.

Leicester City vs Roma Best Bet

There is a growing sense the winner of the Conference League could come from this tie but the rather inconsistent nature of both teams this season makes that hard to believe.

Both sides have blown hot and cold of late and we can’t exactly predict what to expect with these two. Asides the battle on the pitch, there is another potential dugout drama, with Brendan Rodgers and Jose Mourinho having faced off on several occasions.

While Mourinho went unbeaten against his counterpart across seven meetings, it was Rodgers who came out on top when they both met last in December 2020.

Leicester currently hold a run of just one defeat in eight games across all competitions while Roma saw their 12 game unbeaten Serie A run crumble when they lost to reigning champions Inter Milan at the weekend.

However, I am leaning on Leicester coming out on top simply because of their home record. The Foxes are unbeaten in six of their European home games this term. In fact, nobody has beaten the foxes at home since Tottenham did in mid-January.

Roma have the joint-top scorer in Tammy Abraham and there is a strong chance they could score but I’m backing Rodgers and company to come out on top regardless.
