Omonia were comprehensively beaten at home by Sheriff Tiraspol in their first group match, and I’m expecting Sociedad to pile on the misery here. The Cypriot side failed to create anything significant in that game, so Sociedad will be confident of solidifying their place at the of the group here.

Sociedad recorded an impressive 1-0 victory over Manchester United in their group opener. The only goal came from a controversial penalty, but the Basque team limited the home side to very few opportunities. The quality of their defensive display coupled with Omonia’s inability to mount attacks in their first game means that Sociedad should win comfortably here.

I don’t envisage the visitors scoring, and Sociedad are more than capable of netting a few at home. They have played two home games so far against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, and they have scored in both. Omonia are nowhere near the level of those opponents, so I expect them to roll over here.

Helsinki are another side that looked void of ideas in their Europa League match last week. They were beaten 2-0 by Real Betis, and they rarely got near the Spanish side’s goal. Helsinki had just four shots in the entire match; only one of them hit the target.

Helsinki don’t have home advantage this time around, and we all know how seriously Mourinho takes European competitions. His side got their hands on the Europa Conference League last season, and they would love to go one better by capturing the Europa League this season. Roma were beaten by Ludogorets in their first match so getting the three points is of paramount importance here.

Like Omonia, I really don’t see Helsinki scoring. I also fancy them to find the net a few times here. They won their last home match 3-0, and they are more than capable of putting Helsinki to the sword.
