Europa League Best Bets: Thursday April 14th

The Europa League returns this Thursday and all four quarter-final ties are hanging in the balance. Braga are the only team that carry an advantage into the second leg, and they will face a Rangers side with the full backing of their home support.
I’ve got some selections from across the four games in the competition and have dipped into a variety of markets.

- Barcelona vs Frankfurt – Barcelona To Win & Over 2.5 Match Goals (1.95)
- Atalanta vs RB Leipzig – Over 3.5 Goals In The Match (2.75)
Europa League Treble odds: 9.81

Rangers vs Braga
Thursday, April 14th, 20:00 (UK Time)
Rangers are the only team chasing the tie heading into this round of fixtures. With success in the Scottish Premier League extremely unlikely for Rangers, triumphing in Europe is the only real motivator for the remainder of the season. As a result, I’m expecting the home side to be pilling on the pressure from the very first whistle.
Rangers were beaten 1-0 in the first leg and won six corners in Portugal and the team are averaging 6.4 corners per game in their last 10 matches across all competitions. This number jumps up to 7.7 corners per game across their last 10 home matches.
Bet365 have over 5.5 Rangers’ corners priced at 1.83. Not only is this something that they managed in the first leg just one week ago, the nature of the home side being a goal down also plays into the hands of this bet nicely.
- Selection: Rangers Over 5.5 Corners
- Best Odds: 1.83 (Bet 365)
- Stake: 8/10
Barcelona vs Frankfurt
Thursday, April 14th, 20:00 (UK Time)
Barcelona were disappointing in the first leg and were unable to secure the win despite playing the last 15 minutes od the match against 10 men. The German side took the lead and looked likely to add to that lead before Ferran Torres found the next in the 66th minute.
Xavi’s side also showed some frailties in their 3-2 win over Levante at the weekend; an injury time winner from Luuk De Jong was enough to secure all three points, but the team aren’t looking as imperious as they were when they hammered Real Madrid a few weeks ago.
This being considered, Frankfurt will still feel they have a chance coming to the Nou Camp with the score at 1-1. I’m happy to back Barcelona to go through but both teams should display attacking intent, so there’s value in getting goals on side as well. Barcelona matches since Xavi took over are averaging 3 goals per game; this has increased to 3.2 in the team’s last 10 matches and there have been three goals or more in seven of them.
You can get odds of 2.05 wit bet365 for Barcelona to win and over 2.5 goals in the match. This competition will be a priority for Xavi with a top four spot in La Liga all but nailed down. They won’t take Frankfurt lightly and are capable of scoring 3 goals themselves, but the German side could easily find the net against a shaky Barcelona defence.
- Selection: Barcelona To Win & Over 2.5 Match Goals
- Best Odds: 1.95 (Bet 365)
- Stake: 8/10

Atalanta vs RB Lepizig
Thursday, April 14th, 17:45 (UK Time)
Both of these teams are known for their attacking impetus and I was slightly surprised that the first leg finished with just two goals. First legs are often more cagey affairs than the second leg deciders, so I’m expecting more goals this time around.
Leipzig and Atalanta were both extremely wasteful in the first encounter. The home side missed four and the away side missed two of what Opta defines as a big chance. Also, the woodwork was hit a staggering four times in the 90 minutes, so there is little concern about the potential for goals as they meet again this Thursday.
Unibet have over 3.5 goals in the match priced at a generous 2.88 and I’m happy to back that after looking at the previous numbers for these sides. Leipzig’s away matches in Europe this season are averaging five goals per game. Atalanta’s home matches in Europe are averaging 3.6 goals per game, so both of these stats bode well for our bet here.
- Selection: Over 3.5 Goals In The Match
- Best Odds: 2.88 (Unibet)
- Stake: 7/10

WHAT IS A EUROPA LEAGUE ACCA?
A Europa League acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A Europa League acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Europa League accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the Europa League acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
