Sevilla vs West Ham Best Bet
Thu, March 10th, 17:45 (UK Time)
The Europa League Round of 16 draw hasn’t been kind to The Hammers. Drawn against a Sevilla outfit with an ongoing love affair with the competition, it couldn’t get much tougher. Six-time winners and in the hat to make it seven, it’s safe to say West Ham have their work cut out on Thursday.
The Spaniards lifted the Europa League as recently as 2019/20. In the outright markets, 6.50 is the price for red and white to don the cup once more. With this year’s final to be hosted at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, Sevilla have every chance.
West Ham have the task of spoiling the party in sunny Seville. At times this season, there hasn’t been enough superlatives to describe David Moyes’ men. Fantastic time and time again, thoroughly deserving a spot in the conversation for the Premier League’s European places.
However, against those of a standard to compete in Europe (current top 7), West Ham have fallen short in each fixture. Versus all of Liverpool, Arsenal, and both Manchester clubs, The Irons succumbed to four losses.
The 2.10 for a victorious Sevilla seems generous given their know-how in the competition and the quality they possess. Don’t expect it to be easy, by any means, but this price is one I’m unwilling to pass up.
- Selection: Sevilla Win
- Best Odds: 2.10 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 5/10
Braga vs Monaco Best Bet
Thu, March 10th, 20:00 (UK Time)
Group B’s unbeaten winners sauntered into the knockouts with a three-point cushion in the group stages. Sharing the initial phase with Real Sociedad, PSV, and Sturm Graz, the unbeaten tag is an impressive one.
It was a different story for their Portuguese opponents who headed into the Round of 32 in February. One of the Champions League dropouts, Sheriff Tiraspol, provided the next assignment. A 2-0 loss to the Moldovan champions set up a tense end to the home leg with penalties required.
Although the better team on paper, Monaco shouldn’t take Braga lightly. Most may be unaware, but Braga brag an imposing pedigree in the Europa League. On the back of their 2-0 win in the previous round, the club reached a clinical milestone. Braga have now registered 100 goals in the competition. This goal-laden century is bettered by just 12 other clubs.
Regardless of milestones, Skybet’s Even money offering in the DNB market for a side that hasn’t lost to date is tempting. Only OGC Nice and Marseille have conceded fewer away from home in Ligue 1 this season. Alongside their French resolve, Monaco did allow a goal in each away group fixture. Nonetheless, it was never enough to cause any inflicting damage.
- Selection: Monaco Draw No Bet
- Best Odds: 2.00 (Skybet)
- Stakes: 10/10
Atalanta vs Bayer Leverkusen Best Bet
Thu, March 10th, 20:00 (UK Time)
Upon markets being released, it was almost a reflex reaction to open up the goals tab here. It’s one of those ties which screams goals and chances by the truckload.
Atalanta finds themselves in the Europa League after a third-place finish in the Champions League group stages. In those group fixtures, over 2.5 goals and BTTS landed in 5 out of 6.
In Bayer Leverkusen’s Europa League adventure to date, over 2.5 goals have sailed in, in 4 out of 6 matches. In Germany, 19 of 25 Leverkusen games have seen three or more goals this campaign. Leverkusen’s knack for BTTS ranks first away from home in the Bundesliga, with 12 of 13 fixtures witnessing both teams scoring.
Looking at the state of play in Serie A, we have a similar story. BTTS and over 2.5 goals made an appearance in 56% of Atalanta’s 27 games.
In the hope that this isn’t a nervy affair, backing goals from both teams seems a safe enough play. With over 2.5 goals priced around 1.66 and BTTS at 1.57, I’m happy to combine for the offered 1.90.
- Selection: Over 2.5 Goals and BTTS
- Best Odds: 1.90 (bet365)
- Stakes: 10/10
