RB Leipzig vs Man City: We meet again

Germany, Champions League, Tuesday, October 4th 20:00 (UK)

Death, taxes and RB Leipzig drawing Manchester City in their Champions League group.

This will be the third successive season the pair have met at this stage. Their duels at the Etihad have seen a staggering 16 goals scored, 13 of which by the Citizens and five of those via Erling Haaland.

The fixtures in Leipzig are usually a lot closer contests.

In their last meeting in Germany, RBL beat Man City in December of 2021 and held the current holders to a 1-1 draw. Josko Gvardiol grabbed the equaliser for the hosts that day, switching allegiances since, of course.

Head-to-heads are a feeble point of reference, though. Circumstances change, and after Pep Guardiola’s side’s 100% start to the campaign ended at the weekend, you’d imagine they’ll head to the continent with a point to prove.

The 1.70, generally, about an away win does seem huge, considering the Citizens went off at 1.53 in the UCL final and 2.10 in the semi-final at the Bernabeu.

  • Selection: Man City Win
  • Best Odds: 1.70

  • Stake: 10/10

Dortmund vs AC Milan: Yellow Wall & Yellow Belly

Germany, Champions League, Tuesday, October 4th 20:00 (UK)

Following the departure of Jude Bellingham, the mood around Dortmund has been pretty bleak.

While their former maestro grabbed the winner for his new club on match day one, the Germans UCL campaign got off to a losing start.

Edin Terzic’s men lost 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain, the opening goal coming via the spot, and that defeat ended a 13-game unbeaten run.

BVB responded with two domestic victories but have only kept two clean sheets all campaign, which is why it is tough to get onside with the hosts.

Milan racked up 25 shots, an xG of 1.99 and squandered four ‘big chances’ against Newcastle, somehow failing to break the deadlock.

Domestically, the Rossoneri have had no trouble finding the net, with 15 scored in seven fixtures. In fact, the visit of the Magpies was the first time they have failed to score in a game this season.

Backing the visitors to score two or more goals at odds-against on Wednesday appeals.

  • Selection: AC Milan to Score 2+ Goals
  • Best Odds: 2.30
  • Bookmaker: Paddy Power
  • Stake: 5/10

Marseille vs Brighton: Seagoals

France, Europa League, Thursday, October 5th, 17:45 (UK)

Honours were shared as six goals were split evenly with Ajax in Marseille’s Europa League opener.

The French side’s response has not been the best, thumped 4-0 at the Parc des Prince in the La Classique and then Gennaedo Gattuso’s men were the wrong side of a five-goal thriller in Monaco.

While points have been fleeting, goals have not. Since Les Phocéens’ stalemate with Toulouse, their three games have seen 15 goals scored. That is five scored and ten conceded.

With Brighton visiting the Velodrome on Thursday, that goal glut should continue.

The Seagulls European tour kicked off with a shock defeat against AEK Athens. Roberto De Zerbi’s side followed that up with a win and a narrow defeat before getting thumped by Aston Villa 6-1.

This season, in Brighton’s nine games in all competitions, only one has failed to see Both Teams to Score and over 2.5 goals click. That is the bet here.

  • Selection: Over 2.5 Goals & BTTS
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: Paddy Power
  • Stake: 10/10

Aston Villa vs Zrinjski: Durán Durán

England, Europa Conference League, Thursday, October 5th, 20:00 (UK)

Aston Villa, the Europa Conference League favourites, managed by a continual cup enthusiast, lost their opening game.

The Villans went off at 1.53 to win against Legia Warsaw, ultimately coming home empty-handed.

Unai Emery’s side have responded in the best possible way, with back-to-back victories in the Premier League, and priced at 1.10 on Thursday evening, should cruise to victory.

Jhon Duran’s price to score anytime certainly appeals. The Colombian has been in imperious form this campaign, finding the net four times in all competitions. A figure made even more impressive by the fact the 19-year-old has only started three games. It took him six minutes to find the net in Warsaw and 11 in the second leg against Hibernian.

  • Selection: Jhon Durán Anytime Goalscorer
  • Best Odds: 2.30
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 10/10
